Quick & Simple Yeast Pizza Crust Recipe

Our family enjoys a good homemade pizza. For as long as I can remember we have used this no yeast pizza crust recipe, but this particular night I was craving a crust that is a little lighter and bread-like. I didn't have the patience to wait hours for multiple rises, so I needed a quick yeast recipe. I stumbled on this recipe and went to work. Tasty Vegetable Lasagna Recipe

Hi everyone! I am Alesha, mom blogger behind Full Time Mama, and I am thrilled to be writing for Heather here on OurKidsMom! When I was thinking on what to share with you here, I decided a delicious recipe would be appropriate. It wouldn't be too hard for me to write up a recipe post (I enjoy cooking and host a recipe link up every week on my blog), but then Heather said it would need to be vegetarian. Ah, a challenge! My family doesn't eat … [Read more...]

What We Tried : Taco Casserole (vegetarian)

My family adores Mexican food, but my small repertoire of tacos, burritos and nachos were getting a little tiring. After a little searching I ran across this recipe for Taco Casserole. I’ve made this twice now and most of us love it. Why do I say “most of us”? My oldest son detests beans and gooey cheese. Ethan picks through to eat the beans and chips. The rest of us mix in some sour cream and maybe some guacamole and devour it. Taco Casserole … [Read more...]

What We Tried : Vegetarian Lasagna Recipe

We tried this yummy recipe this week and had mixed reactions. The younger generally don’t like any type of lasagna. Ethan pushed the noodles aside and ate the inside. Emma took one bite and refused. Josh doesn’t like cheese, so he gagged a few bites down and walked away. Kaytlin, myself and my husband enjoy lasagna and cheese… and loved this recipe. The only thing I would change is to maybe add some garlic and maybe some mushrooms.         … [Read more...]

What We Tried: Vegetarian Paella Recipe

This week I was looking for something simple, preferably one pan and that everyone would like. I haven’t had paella since I was a child and that particular version was very spicy and contained shrimp. Everyone loved this dish. I was warning them that it might be a bit spicy… it wasn’t spicy at all. The kids were asking to add soy sauce, but we talked them into trying it without and they ended up eating two bowls.   Print Vegetarian … [Read more...]

What We Tried: Baked Falafel Sandwich Recipe (Vegetarian)

I ran across this recipe one day and asked my husband if he knew what a falafel was. Neither one of us knew, but he had “heard” about falafels and thought they were supposed to be super yummy. This particular recipe does not call for them to be deep fried, which makes these falafels a little more diet-friendly than traditional ones. You can also make them even easier on the waistline by using the Sensa weight loss system! How did the family … [Read more...]

What We Tried : “Valentino’s” Pizza Crust Recipe

Pizza has become a weekly meal for us and I am always on the hunt for an easy but yummy crust. For years now (since I was a pre-teen) I have used a Betty Crocker recipe that does not call for yeast or rising. It is a little dense, but the family likes it okay. This week I wanted a little more airy dough but didn’t want to wait for a rise and punch down (who wants to work on pizza dough for hours, right?). This one was a hit with the family! … [Read more...]

What We Tried… Vegetarian Korma & Naan Recipes (Indian)

My husband and I recently visited a local Indian restaurant for our anniversary (remember the cucumber/jalepeno incident?). We both fell in love with the zest and overall taste as well as how filling it is! I have been on the hunt for a recipe that would work well for our family and found this one along with the Naan recipe online. We served this to the entire family. Ethan picked through, ate a few vegetables and several pieces of Naan. … [Read more...]
