Ethan’s 4th Birthday | Recovering Deleted Photos

Today (Saturday) was Ethan’s 4th birthday. To make it extra special we took him to play at The Track in Branson, MO (review to come later). We had a long, hot but fun day. In a hurry to clear my memory card so I could join the family at the pool I thought I transferred my photos to my hard drive. I reformatted my memory card so I had a clean slate for the pool photos. Tonight when I went to find the photos... they were nowhere to be found. As … [Read more...]

Twenty-One Years Ago | Five Days | Forever In Our Hearts #infantloss

Twenty-one Years Ago… Our lives changed Forever. (My first time holding Emilee… and one of our very few “family” photos.)  Our sweet angel baby Emilee Camille was born. Twenty-one years ago... it seems like yesterday, but again it seems like a lifetime ago... almost dreamlike. Who would she have looked like? What would her personality have been like? What talents, likes and dislikes would she have had? Millions of questions go through … [Read more...]

Thank You For Your Patience | My Life & Foundation Repair

As many of your know, my life/house is in shambles right now as we are getting our foundation repaired. Yesterday was a long (and loud) day of drilling, cutting and piering which has left my household in a mess. Here are a few pictures of the process... Cutting the first hole... there are two in the garage and five in the lower living room. The first hole proved that we were doing the right thing. There is an almost ten inch void under our … [Read more...]

Sibling Rivalry & Competitiveness … It’s Getting Dangerous!

If you’ve been around a while, you might remember reading in November about our “baby” case of sibling rivalry. That was mostly hitting and yelling. I was reassured that it would get better, and for the most part I guess it has. The aggressiveness with each other has pretty much become non-existant. They play together daily and Ethan even insists on getting kisses from Emma at bedtime. I think more than ever they are now competing. … [Read more...]

Happy Birthday Ethan!

Three years ago today our lives were forever changed for the better.    It’s incredible how fast time flies.  It seems like just yesterday he was my chubby little toothless booby baby… all giggles and grins.  And then it happened.  I blinked… and he grew up.  I tell him often… “You will always be Mommy’s baby… you know that, right?” He always answers in his sweet little voice … [Read more...]

Twenty Years Ago… Our lives changed Forever. (My first time holding Emilee… and one of our very few “family” photos.)  Our sweet angel baby Emilee Camille was born. She graced our lives for 5 beautiful but heart wrenching days. Because of a fluke birthing accident our lives were changed forever. You taught us to not take our lives for granted. You taught us that life is fragile, precious and can be changed or extinguished in … [Read more...]

Gender Non Conforming Boys… Should I Worry?

Childhood gender nonconformity is a phenomenon in which pre-pubescent children do not conform to expected gender-related sociological or psychological patterns, and/or identify with the opposite gender. Typical behavior among those who exhibit the phenomenon includes but is not limited to a propensity to cross-dress, refusal to take part in activities conventionally thought suitable for the gender and the exclusive choice of play-mates of the … [Read more...]

This is for the birds…

Thursday morning I awoke with every intention of getting my daily giveaway written and posted. I made my coffee, set the table with my laptop and had a seat. Then my oldest son came downstairs and told me about a dove my husband found sitting in the bush at the bottom of our front steps. Of course I went out and had a look and then tried to move on with my day. Josh noticed the neighbor cat stalking our direction… I guess he decided that … [Read more...]
