World Series of Yahtzee Board Game

yahtzee1We were recently sent the World Series of Yahtzee to check out. I’ve been playing Yahtzee since I was around 10, so a new version of this old favorite intrigued me.

Are you ready to rock the roll? Roll the dice and see if you’ve got the guts to score big. Because Yahtzee is about more than just the luck of the dice. It’s about strategizing to get the highest score. It’s up to you to decide if you want to stick with that straight, hustle for a full house, or risk it all for a five-of-a-kind Yahtzee. And if you’re a real dice shark, you might roll multiple Yahtzees and get a bonus-fueled record high score. With face-to-face and digital versions of Yahtzee, you can choose which way you want to play. Try your hand at any one of the cool Yahtzee games. The high-rolling, high-speed, high-stakes game of Yahtzee. Yahtzee, the ultimate dice game for the ultimate win. This is how we roll.Yahtzee is a trademark of Hasbro.

If you’ve always though that Yahtzee was a little too slow paced for you, you need to try this new version!

The World Series of Yahtzee Board game is a fast pace version of the old game. You start the game with cardboard tiles of the scores to roll. Eight of these tiles are placed face up on the board… then everyone starts rolling the dice as quickly as they can. The first player who rolls one of scores hits his button to indicate has it. The other players continue on for 5 more seconds trying to get their chosen score tile. Once a tile/score has been achieved it’s replaced… and this continues until all the tiles have been won. Scoring is simple… the player with the most points wins.

This game is rated for ages 8 and up. I would suggest closer to 10 as it requires good hand/eye coordination. This game also requires quick thinking (and moving). Therefore I would suggest not pairing older players with younger. It seems that “older” players take longer to roll/match tiles. That being said… no more writing down scores is a huge plus!
