I finally stepped over to the DSLR world and I am a proud new mommy owner of a beautiful Nikon. I have to say, though, that I was very disappointed with the strap that came with the camera. It wasn’t long before I started scouring the internet looking for a more fashionable, but yet very functional strap to fit my personality.

I was beyond excited when I found Capturing Couture.

I have to be honest here and say that if I could have purchased 10 straps, I would have. Seriously. I narrowed it down to three fairly quickly, though, and after a day of deliberations I decided on the Hibiscus Fields design from the Tropical Collection.

Our Hibiscus Fields SLR/DSLR camera straps feature colors of the forest and have an army green color base with white floral embroidery and forest green leaves.

The main attribute the Nikon strap was missing (for me) was personality. My favorite color is green so I was instantly drawn to the Hibiscus Fields. The stark white contrasting flowers mixed with the deep green leaves drew my attention and I quickly fell in love.

Quality was also very important to me as well. It doesn’t matter how cute the strap is… I have to trust it to safely hold my new baby camera. The metal rivets on both the strap and connectors put my mind at ease. It is going to take a large amount of force to rip the camera off this strap. The nylon webbing that is used to connect to the camera is strong and offers ultimate durability. There is some degree of adjustability for preferred positioning with the way this attaches to the camera.

Because I will be wearing my camera to most functions for long periods of time, a comfortable neckpad was a majorly important feature for me. Capturing Couture has made theirs even more comfortable with a plush velvet surface so that it won’t rub your neck raw while still offering the padded cushion I desired.

I love everything about my new strap and wish I could take a picture of it attached to the camera for you, but alas… it’s attached to the camera! The stock photos are dead on as far as capturing the product though, so I thought I’d share how nice it looks on the camera.

Because I am a woman that likes to change my accessories like I change my clothes, the only little detail I wish Capturing Couture would add to their straps would be a quick release type clip. This is not a deal breaker for me, though, as I am head over heels for my Hibiscus Fields and do not foresee removing it any time soon. With their large selection of designs and fabrics I am certain they have one (or two, or three) that you can’t live without!

    OK, I *LOVE* The Hibiscus Moon camera strap but since my husband uses the camera too, pink is a no-go. So with that in mind, f I had to choose one of these gorgeous straps it would probably be the Hibiscus Ocean! Beautiful!
