Weekly Weigh In Weeks 29 & 25 on Nutrisystem #NSNation

weeklyweighinIt’s been 29 weeks on Nutrisystem for myself and 25 weeks for Kaytlin.

It was my birthday week (Wednesday was “the day”) and the party started Friday night. Kaytlin took me out to see our favorite band Bowling for Soup play at a small local bar. We were on our feet from 9pm to 1:30am. I have to say… I’m pretty sure 29 weeks ago I would have been complaining most of the night. I was sore, but I made it and had a blast! We even had a little left in us to spend some time in the parking lot talking to Chris and awwwing over his bulldog (sorry, my cell phone takes poor low light pictures).

Monday my husband took me out for my favorite food of all time…. Chinese food yummmmmmm. I splurged and had some appetizers that I knew weren’t the best, but I asked for a half order. We enjoyed our dinner and I had half of it left over to bring home for lunch the next day.

Tuesday Kaytlin and I went to the movies. Instead of movie theatre popcorn, we snuck in a veggie delight sandwich from Subway and a bag of baked Lays. We avoided toasting them so the odor wouldn’t give us away :O).

Wednesday Kaytlin and Josh brought home the makings for strawberry shortcake. Kaytlin was able to find “no sugar” shortcakes and she and I made sure to only consume 1 a piece. I also ate the second half of my Chinese food for dinner.

What I am getting at is this. Although I did not stick to the Nutrisystem plan 100% this week, I’ve learned something in the past 29 weeks. I’ve learned portion control, I’ve learned to read the menu (I avoided one place we were going to eat at because most of their sauces are made with cream) and to think about what I am putting in my mouth. I’m not ready to be on my own… but it’s nice to know that I actually did learn something. I’m hoping another 3 months will give me a few more tools to put in my pocket to help me keep up with this new lifestyle journey I’ve begun.
