Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Digital Video Sensor Pad Baby Monitor Review

Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Digital Video Sensor Pad Baby Monitor Review

I am a nervous Nelly when it comes to my children… always have been, especially after losing our Emilee at 5 days. I didn’t sleep well during the first six months of all four of their lives. Even though they were either next to the bed in a bassinet or actually co-sleeping with us, I would wake multiple times during the night to check on them.

When I heard about the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Digital Video Sensor Pad Baby Monitor I knew it would be perfect for my sister-in-law, as she was quite like me in that respect. Knowing that the monitor would sound an alarm if it didn’t sense movement for a certain amount of time would have given me enough reassurance that I might not have been as sleep deprived as I was.

Digital Video and DECT Audio Sensor Pad Monitors
Tommee Tippee’s new Digital Video and DECT Audio Sensor Pad Baby Monitors are scientifically designed with a unique under mattress sensi-sleep padTM that monitors baby’s movement and alerts you if baby has not moved in 20 seconds. The monitor’s features include clear sound, long- range capabilities and baby room temperature display. Plus, the Digital Video Monitor offers clear video with a large, clear screen that automatically changes to infrared vision in the dark.

The monitor was actually very similar to other video monitors I’ve used. The sensor pad was new to me but looked fairly simple to set up.

Features and Benefits

  • Sensitive sensor pad to monitor baby’s movement (alarms after 20 seconds of undetected movement)
  • Talk-back feature to comfort baby with your voice from afar
  • Long-distance range (up to 1,000 feet)
  • Secure Interference-free monitoring
  • Easy-to-read LCD display
  • Baby’s room temperature display
  • Adjustable gentle night light
  • Auto-channel select Parent unit locator

I decided to play with the video portion a bit before sending it to it’s new home. I loved the clarity, the ease of use (very intuitive) and the temperature sensor. The monitor uses digital technology with 2.4 GHz FHSS for interference free monitoring and video camera with zoom function, 2.8 inch full color LCD screen and infrared night vision camera so you can see your baby day or night. If you look at the upper left side of the blue bar you will see it shows the sensor pad is not plugged in. That would reassure me that I have it assembled correctly. I was pleased with the monitor, but how would it perform with the sensor pad?

I gave the monitor to my sister-in-law to use on her new baby Liam. What did she think?

The baby monitor is super easy to set up. We were a little daunted when we first started reading through the manual, but it’s much easier than it looks. Once we figured out that we can turn down or up the sensitivity, it’s worked great. We love the picture on the camera…. you can see him very clearly. We also love that we don’t have to be nervous wrecks all night long, wondering if he’s ok because he’s so quiet. The alarm already alerted us one evening because he hadn’t moved in too long. He was fine, but it made us feel like we had an extra layer of protection. Even though he’s my second baby, I’m still a little nervous about SIDS. The manual clearly states that it is NOT a prevention for SIDS, but it still makes me feel better.

  45. Christina says

I prefer rafflecopter, I think it is much more user friendly. My facebook email is always different than my email subscription email. I don’t care for the giveaway tools and how handles the email subscription entries to make the bloggers away of the fact I do get thier emails, just not at the email address I use to sign into tools like this.

  46. Amanda Alvarado says

Aside from this monitor that I have been drooling over for awhile, I’d love to try their new Double Electric Breast Pump. BTW the link in the form is for the ConceiveEasy web site…

  47. Amanda Alvarado says

I’m not sure on this Giveaway Tools on this blog yet. I know I love them at Makobi Scribe. It seemed for the 2 giveaways I entered here that they took longer to enter than if they would have been rafflecopter forms. It took forever for it to verify my entries so I could submit. Will have to see – maybe it’s just my computer is running slower today! 🙂

  57. Catie says

    I learned ConceiveEasy is 100% drug-free.

  58. Catie says

I do not like Giveaway Tools. In theory it is a great tool, but the fact you have to be logged in with the Facebook and Twitter accounts is inconvenient. Sometimes those accounts are acting up and I cannot log in properly, therefore I am unable to claim those entries on GT giveaways.

Also the fact that you have to confirm email subscriptions – it just seems to take so much more time than RC. I honestly have found myself skipping GT giveaways more often than entering them.

  59. I learned it’s a drug-free solution and has a 4.8 out of 5 rating from reviewers.
