Summer FUN | How We Showed Our #JuicyFruitFunSide

A huge thank you to Juicy Fruit for sponsoring today’s conversation. All opinions are my own.

As August arrived, I realized that our summer was fading fast. Unlike when I was a child, our local schools open their doors in mid August.

With the kids taking summer school throughout the month of June, that left us with all of July and half of August to enjoy the sun and make the most of our warm-weather days.

Because we were limited on time we weren’t able to take a full fledged family vacation, but we were able to take a short weekend trip to Omaha where we visited their zoo.

The zoo just never gets old for the kids, so when we came back home we purchased a Friends of the Zoo pass for our local zoo as well!

We also spent many hours outside either at the pool or on our inflatable bounce house/water slide.

Sun and water just seem go hand in hand!

There’s really no better way to expend their never ending energy and cool off at the same time.

When we weren’t rubbing elbows with furry friends or pretending to be fish, we were just being plain silly. My two oldest have this down to a science.

If the weather was a little glum or we just wanted to take it a little easy, Emma spent time brightening up our house with window markers.

Crayons, markers, colored pencils, sidewalk chalk and paint were a big part of our summer.

Of course you can’t not visit your local park in the summer!

Kaytlin and I took the younger two to one of her favorite childhood parks closer to our old house. The kids loved the change of scenery and had a blast on the “new” equipment.

Of course there was plenty of time spent in the driveway enjoying our neighbors and the fire pit. We even brought the projector out and watched movies on our garage door.

One photo I wish I had captured was Ethan trying to learn how to blow a bubble.

Gum is a new concept for him. Keeping an item in your mouth instead of swallowing takes a little time to learn, but watching him with concentrated looks of pure determination was enough to make me giggle.

Thankfully we have enough of the new Juicy Fruit Fruity Chews and Bubble Gum to help him obtain his new goal.
