The more I learn about PlanToys and their products the more I’m falling in love with this company. “PlanToys® is not only well-known for the first company in the world to manufacture wooden toys from preservative-free rubberwood, it is one of the leading company to create new material and process to minimize waste up to zero.”
I personally LOVE the look of wooden toys, they look well built and are built to last. Not like the plastic molded toys that will break when your child drops them or steps on them. These toys are durable, and strong allowing your child to play as rough as we all know our kids like to play with their toys. All of Plantoys are designed and created to help develop imagination as well as inspiring your child while working on their intellectual and physical development.
I was sent the Melody Xylophone to try out, and I have fallen in love with this musical instrument. The stylish look, bright colors, and great sound. Both my kids were instantly drawn to it as well. The keys are not only colored but they also have the letter for each note stamped into each key to help your child start recognizing the note that matches the tune they are playing. My 2.5 year old daughter loves to just play away hitting whatever keys she feels like, where my 5 year old son is trying to play the songs that were sent by matching the colors on the cards to the keys on the xylophone.
The xylophone came with 3 cards for a total of 6 songs (2 per card). Each note on the card is color coordinated to match the right colored key on the xylophone. The sound this xylophone gives off is such a nice low key chime, not like the xylophones I have known in the past that are so loud you can’t even handle being in the same room as the toy. I can actually say I enjoy my kids playing away on the xylophone and the Musical Band (I reviewed in the past) together as they explore and develop their musical ear.
When ready to put it away there is a storage block under the xylophone for the drum stick so it wont get lost. The only thing I do wish this xylophone had was a little slot underneath as well to hold the music cards. The cards have gotten misplaced a couple times and I had to go on a hunt for them. Overall I absolutely LOVE the Melody Xylophone and would most definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a quality sounding instrument for their young musician. It is well built and will withstand many hours of play.

This is so cute. I remember playing with something like this, but I think it was plastic. I think the wood would be so much nicer to have and use. Thanks!
I love that they are a “green” company! And the toy looks well built and I also like the bright colors!
this is cute i havent seen any like this one with notes that come along with!
I remember playing with this wonderful toy when I was a kid. And then when my son was little, I got him one, and he played on it for hours and hours of fun! What a great toy to get any child. In fact, this gives me an idea, my nephew is getting at the age he can use this, I am going to get him one. He will love it!
I love it! I remember having one when I was a little girl. My kids had one too! I love the old toys! More a purpose than the monster ones they give their kids today. Thanks for bringing me back some good memories.
ahh, now this toy brings back some childhood memories! love it!
This toy is great, my 2 year old loves making music so she would love this! And I love that it would grow with her, as she gets older shed be able to play songs with the music cards!!
We have three xylophones and one of them, the only wooden one in the bunch, sounds horrible. I’ll have to go for Plan Toys next time!
my daughter has something similar and she loves it! so i know she would love this…
I had something like this when I was little. Of course, it wasn’t this nice.
