Looking Good on a Low Budget
It doesn’t have to cost a lot of money to look like a million dollars. It is a simple matter of making a plan and shopping smartly to collect all of the items you need to look great at work or out on the town. Follow these simple suggestions, and you will not have to take a second job just to look good.
Save a Ton on Beauty Products
Many women spend a lot of money on makeup when they don’t really have to. Simply taking the time to comparison shop will allow you to find the best bargains on name brand products that you need to accentuate your positive attributes. Most often, you will find that going to a drug store for your beauty and hygiene products is the overall cheapest way to go, more so than a super market. This is often the case, but you can still comparison shop and be flexible. You’ll have to measure the convenience of buying all of these products at one location against the money you can save by shopping at several different stores. It will take some organization at first, but comparison shopping will help you save money.
Use Coupons to Save Money
There are always coupons – you just need to know where to find them (and then use them). This isn’t just for clothing that you would buy at a department store; the market for your clothing dollars is very competitive and every store is pushing hard to win you over and entice you to spend money at their stores. There are online sites that are dedicated solely to providing consumers with coupons that provide savings at almost any store that you can name. You can find coupons from Kohls, Sears, JCPenney, Macy’s or even coupons from DSW. You can find the stylish clothing that you want and pay less to get it just by spending 15 minutes searching the Internet for appropriate coupons.
There is no shame in using coupons, and you should do it as often as you can. These stores want your business because they know that if they provide you with the things that make you look good at a price you like, you will shop with them again and again. This makes you vitally important to all of these businesses, so don’t feel bad about saving money with coupons.
Make Your Own Style
One of the most expensive things you can do is to rely on the latest trends to decide what your wardrobe will look like. Doing so, however, is costly because what is trending now is also the most expensive. Focus on wearing clothing that you like and that looks good on you. Your body type, skin tone and bone structure are going to determine a lot of this. Focus on finding flattering clothing to accentuate your physical attributes and let the fashion fall where it will. That doesn’t necessarily mean you should abandon all fashion sense, because there is a limit here. You want to fit in – just don’t let every fashion craze that comes along from Madison Avenue determine the contents of your wardrobe. Be an individual, and you will look stylish, confident and attractive for both work and play – and you will be able to do it on a low budget.

Some great tips here – finding one’s style is always the best option.
I tend to do shopping in second-hand stores where I can always find something nobody else has (it’s so exciting to have such items!). When it comes to cosmetics I have one brand that I love, but I am not sure it’s on UK/US market yet as it comes from my country of birth 😉 Its actually really good brand that has started a while ago and the cost is just aaahmazing 😉
I am always looking at ways to save money when it comes to fashion and makeup. It can be so costly otherwise..
Thanks for the great tips for saving money on fashion.
To save even more – try thrift shops. There are regular ones and upscale ones if your tastes run there.
I just recently found that I do save a lot of money on makeup by shopping at drug stores. I also use coupons whenever possible. I also try to catch the sales whenever possible. I really like the idea of making your own style. Thank you for the great post!
