Holiday Gift Guide 2013 | LeapPad Ultra Children’s Learning Tablet
Finding a great educational toy that is also fun can be tricky. Some of the really fun toys offer the bare minimum of education, while others are really educational, but not so fun.
I was asked to review the LeapFrog LeapPad Ultra Kids’ Learning Tablet. With this tablet, your children have their choice of over 800 apps, games, e-books, music, and videos with just a few clicks. With all of those great apps, your child is sure to have lots of fun playing with his/her LeapPad Ultra. The screen on the LeapPad Ultra is backlit with a seven inch touch screen, which has been specifically designed for little hands. The Zui browser offers secure browsing, which offers your child the freedom to find his or her favorite things that you have approved. The LeapPad Ultra comes with 11 pre-loaded apps that include: Art Studio Ultra, Photo Fun Ultra, and an MP3 player that includes 10 songs, your child will already be set after opening, if you’re considering this as a Christmas gift.
If your child loves to take pictures, the LeapPad Ultra has a front and back camera and video recorder that allows your child to take videos of siblings, parents, or themselves, easily, and the built in Wi-Fi offers great connectivity. To store all of your child’s creations, the LeapPad Ultra has 8 GB of internal memory. The built in lithium-ion battery gives your child up to nine hours of rechargeable battery life.
Emma and Ethan have both had the original LeapPad since it came out. It has always been their “go to” device when we take car trips. I have always loved that when I purchased an app online and downloaded I could download it on both of their tablets for the same price. With the new additions to the Ultra I decided it was time to upgrade their Leappad. The screen size, resolution, better wi-fi and more… it’s a no brainer. The Leappad Ultra is specifically designed for children ages 4-9.
If you’re looking for the perfect gift for your little one this year, this may be right up your alley. With a price tag of about $150, it won’t hurt your wallet nearly as much as the leading tablets on the market.
The LeapPad Ultra made the Toys R Us Fabulous 15 toy list this year!
