kidsAs a parent, we go above and beyond to make sure that our family is safe. It seems that the minute my first baby was born, an instinct (almost Spidey like senses) turned on and like a radar… I could spot just about any situation that might be dangerous for my child. We baby proofed the heck out of that first house with gates, electrical plugs, anchoring furniture, binding cords… you name it we probably did it.

As my children got older baby proofing turned into making sure they had all the proper safety gear for whatever they were doing. Bicycle helmets, knee and elbow pads… heck I probably would have padded the sidewalk if it were feasible *grin*.

It didn’t/doesn’t stop with safety gear either. I wanted the best for my child(ren) as do most parents in all areas… including food. I did my best to provide breast milk for their entire first year, I made homemade baby food, I chopped finger foods up to the tiniest piece possible so they wouldn’t choke and avoided all allergen foods as long as possible. Now that they are older my focus has been on organic and non-GMO foods. Real foods that their bodies recognize as food.

Keeping your family safe goes beyond baby proofing and food choices.  Using a service like LifeLock will help protect against more than just credit fraud and identity theft. They will alert you whenever they detect your personal information being used to apply for wireless services, retail credit, utilities, and mortgage loans within their extensive network. I have heard and seen this advertised on TV also. It just amazing how these bad people can destroy a persons life in no time.

    • It IS crazy June! It is SO HARD to get incorrect information off your credit report, too. My husband and his father have a very similar name. Needless to say their credit meshed and overlapped on each other’s. Took us nearly a year to clear the mess.

Mom and I were just talking about LifeLock after reading an article about increased identity theft, especially among the elderly. She had watched a tekevision show promoting LifeLock and warning about identity theft. There were interviews with identity theft victims, and their stories were quite alarming. I think LifeLock may be worth the peace of mind of being protected. Thanks for sharing.

    • It’s definitely worth checking into Pamela. My husband gets updates via email to keep him up to date. It’s nice to know someone has your digital back, kwim?

It’s a shame we have to worry about identity theft, but it is better to be proactive than sorry later….
