New Windows 8X HTC Phone

Content and/or other value provided by our partner, HTC.

I think it would be fair to say I am a smart phone virgin.  I’ve always had fairly basic phones and don’t quite get what all the hype is about.  My husband has an awesome phone, but because he always has it on him I never get to play with it.  I *just* learned how to make a call on it over the weekend and he’s had it for months!  As times goes on, more and more friends and family get the "cool" phones and I’m left wondering what it’s all about.  I’ve been on the fence about getting a new phone.  So when I was given the opportunity to review the new Windows 8X, I decided it’s the perfect time to join the cult…err….club!

The all new Windows phone 8X by HTC is here!

What’s so great about it?

It features a super wide angle, front facing camera which is great for self portraits and even group Skype calls. The built-in 2.0 lens, back-side illumination and ImageChip make sure your photos come out great in any light.
It features Beats Audio which brings out sound like never before with built-in amplifier.
It has lightweight Gorilla glass that is scratch resistant.

Phone 029My old phone has done it’s job, but it was never designed for heavy web surfing, keeping a calendar or anything like that.  It’s great for calling and texting.  That’s pretty much all I do on my current phone.  I would like to have the option to use a phone for more than just calling and texting, so I’m super excited about trying the 8X phone very soon!!  Woo Hoo!  It’s like I’m entering a new world.  Pretty sure I’ll get sucked in quickly & will love it.

I’ll be posting updates over the next several weeks.  I hope to learn as much as possible about my new phone and can’t wait to share with you all the cool features!

Yes, I’m afraid you’re absolutely correct.. Once you go smart phone, it is so very hard to go back. I currently have an iphone and really didn’t use my old phone for anything other than making telephone calls.. Now I wonder how I did that for so long! I can check my personal email, my work email and look up phone numbers on the web when I need them, get directions from the gps.. The things you can do with it are endless!!!

Both my parents are SUPER new to ‘smart’ phones, they used to have flip phones that were years old (lol) and make fun of everyone with their phones but now they are crazy like everyone else and are constantly looking for new stuff to do with their phones! My brother gets a new phone almost every few months, I will definitely recommend this to him!
