Documenting Memories with Photo Books | Beyond The Baby Book
Our children grow so fast. You start at birth by keeping their memories recorded in a baby book. Unfortunately, the more children I had the less full their baby books became. I am horribly embarrassed by this admission, but I have been working hard on trying to document their current memories so that they won’t be lost in the past as well.
I had a conversation with my six year old the other day about photographs. I then pulled out an old photo album with pictures from his older siblings lives. His eyebrows furrowed and he looked beyond confused. He finally looked up at me and asked me why they weren’t on the computer and instead on paper. Yep… my son had no idea that people printed photos and thought they only existed in the digital world. I was so sad.
Shutterfly photo books are a fabulous way to document your children’s year and give them a physical product that they can look through at a whim… and they will (repeatedly). If you are a social shutterbug you could make monthly, bi-monthly, bi-yearly or yearly Instagram books packed full of their cuteness.
With four children I have mountains of artwork in tubs. By photographing these and sorting them chronologically in a photo book I can keep them organized and they can actually be enjoyed. Seriously, I only have so much room on my fridge and SO MANY cute pieces of artwork!
Shutterfly has so many good ideas on documenting your children’s memories. Take a look!
