Bumbo Potty Trainer and Step Stool

My first encounter with Bumbo was a floor seat several years ago.  When my youngest was born we knew she would have one as well.  Since then I have become aware of other products offered from Bumbo.  They also have a booster seat, crawl ball, step stool and toilet trainer.  When given the opportunity to review the potty trainer and step stool, the timing couldn’t have been better.

Our youngest turned two in September, and has begun potty learning.  Yay!!  We have a very small bathroom and when we add a child’s potty to the bathroom along with the step stool for hand washing, we constantly have to move something out of  our way.  I was excited to replace her existing potty with one that would just work with ours.  That also means one less object to stub your toe on in the middle of the night.

The toilet trainer is made of a soft, flexible polyurethane foam.  It is comfortable and the design of the seat makes my daughter feel secure.  She is very independent and does not want me helping hold her on the toilet, but has already had a really scary incident where she took herself to the bathroom and slipped into the toilet.  The hole in the middle of the potty trainer is relatively small compared to other seats I have seen.  There is no chance my little one is going to slip through.  The surface of the seat has a coating that is easily cleaned too.  This seat is a great choice for us.

The step stool is also more compact than our previous stool.   The side curves in so it tucks in nice and close to the toilet.  I would love to see it just a little taller for my little one.  Another great feature is the rubbery top and bottom of the stool.  This step stool is truly non-slip even after my toddler washes her hands and gets it really wet.  Because the bottom is also non-slip, it never starts moving away as she is climbing on the toilet either.  It is lightweight and my daughter has no problem moving it herself from in front of the toilet to the sink to wash her hands.  I love seeing how proud she is when she can accomplish tasks by herself.
