Gelarti Paint and Decorate Peel Off Stickers

Disclosure: Gelarti art supplies were sent for review purposes only. All opinions are 100% my own.

We were recently asked to try the new Gelarti paint and decorate peel off sticker kits as part of our back to school routine. Looking at Emma’s notepads and binders I thought she could use a little pizzazz and personalization and agreed to give them a try!

The Designer Studio included the standard paint and stickers, but also included a turn table and paint holder set that allows you to rotate your designs while working on them to avoid smudging the paint. The kit also included a few embellishments for a little extra touch.

The Activity Pack came with the standard paints and stickers to decorate, but also came with two bag tags and a reusable notecard. We decided to dive into these kits to begin with.

Ethan, who just turned 5, generally does not have a steady hand and still struggles to color in the lines. He asked me to help him paint his stickers so they wouldn’t be “messy”. Ethan needed a little guidance when it came to squeezing the paint (he was a little heavy handed) but was able to mostly push the paint around without a lot of help.

Emma, age 6 1/2, is a pro at coloring and took to this project immediately. We gave her the turn table to aid her creations and let her get to work.

Emma found it easy to squeeze the paint out and then push it around with the tip of the applicator.

Kaytlin, my oldest (21), joined in on the fun and started her creation. She read up on the special effects that can be created with the marbling tool and picked out a few gems to add for a final touch.

Kaytlin decided to try out some of the techniques detailed on the Gelarti site. I believe she did the marbling and swirling techniques. She has a small “accident” with one of the colors as it came out a little runny, but the end result was rather cute. She also added a few sparkle embellishments that were included in the Designer Studio.

We placed all of the finished creations on the counter to dry over night and the next morning Emma eagerly started decorating her take home binder from school. She loves that her binder is a little more “her” and it stands out/doesn’t look exactly like the others.
Our overall experience with Gelarti was positive. All of us enjoyed the creation process and found it rather simple and intuitive. We had a small issue with one of the paints not wanting to come out, which was quickly remedied after reading the Tips and Tricks page of the site, and another tube came out a little runny/watery. Overall, though, the product was very easy to manipulate.
We plan to use more of the kits to decorate the kids bedroom windows, Emma wants to decorate her vanity mirror and I’ve been asked if they can put some of the bathroom mirror. All of these uses are more than fine with me… because the best part of all of this is that they are reusable! If they decide in two days that they don’t want the sticker in that particular spot they are easily moved and stick just as well in their new home.
