As my children get older, the need for more computers in the house becomes a necessity. Our “family desktop” has been showing it’s age and just not keeping up with the older kid’s needs. I have a daughter in college and a son that is a sophomore in high school. Both spend a good deal of time online or on the computer doing homework. When I was looking for a laptop for my son I wasn’t looking for anything over the top or high end. I knew I wanted a 15.6” (or 17”) monitor, at least 4 GB of RAM and a decent hard drive for storage. My daughter needed a little more umph because of her major. But purchasing multiple computers can break anyone’s budget. That is why I was incredibly happy to see the new line of affordable PCs at Wal-Mart!

This infographic speaks volumes. I remember when I got my first laptop the battery life could barely make it through a television show, let alone a flight to another city! I also remember that lugging my laptop around required some heavy lifting. I found that old “paper weight” the other day in my dead electronics drawer and lifting it to move it made me realize how light todays laptops really are!

He will be staying with us the first 2 years but will need a computer with disc, and this has a 500 hard drive and 6MB with capability to gain up to 16. I know he will like the cam with the prospects of skype with friends who will be going far away to school.
My husband has a Toshiba laptop he brings home from work…it is the BEST computer I have ever used…we have bought another brand and only lasted 2 years. I believe in the Toshiba brand for computers now.
