5 Packing Essentials When Traveling with a Baby

Getting packed and ready to travel with a baby can be an overwhelming experience for many parents. However, with the right list of packing essentials, securing them in their baby car seat and traveling can be less stressful and give you peace of mind that you have everything taken care of and ready to go.

Here are six packing essentials when traveling with a small infant:

  1. 1. Baby tableware:Pick the most essential ones when it comes to tableware. If your baby is from 0 to 3 months old, you can not imagine traveling without a bottle for sure. Baby feeding bowls and plates come in handy when your baby has transitioned to eating solid food. You can as well pack sippy cups, but be sure to take ones that prevent leaking or you can take a soft training cup for babies which will provide a more interesting experience for your little one during the trip.
  2. A portable place to change. Changing pads can provide you a clean space to change your baby’s diaper wherever you are. Sometimes a bathroom with a changing table is nowhere to be seen. A changing pad will allow you to be able to get your baby into a fresh and clean diaper or outfit just about anywhere you happen to be.
  3. Stroller or baby carrier. You will not want to carry your baby in your arms everywhere you go. Having either a compact stroller or a baby carrier will be not only a lifesaver but an arm saver! What type of carrier or stroller you will need depends on your traveling circumstances and where you are going, so plan according to your specific travel plans.
  4. Diapers and wipes. Bring enough diapers and wipes to get you through until you will be able to go to a store. Make sure you pack a few more than you think you’ll need, as accidents always seem to occur and you will want to be prepared. Baby wipes are also extremely useful for cleaning other surfaces on your travels, such as tables, seats, hands, and faces, so pack extra along as well.
  5. Food. Snacks, snacks, and more snacks are always a good idea when traveling with children of any age. Be sure to pack some for yourself too! Bring enough formula, breast milk, cereal, and snacks to keep your baby happy while you are traveling. What type of food and snacks you bring is dependant on your child’s age and needs, so make sure that you bring what is needed to keep them fed and happy the entire way to your destination. If you have special dietary needs, be sure to pack enough for your entire trip, if getting those items is difficult at your destination. You can even bring nuts or peanuts if your baby is at the proper age to eat them because they can be very useful and keep your kid busy for a long time. You need to make sure beforehand if this will not cause peanut allergy in babies as it is a very common allergen. Try to give it to your baby a little before the trip and see if it can cause any odd reactions or symptoms. Make sure to test all the products for allergies before the trip in order to avoid all the inconveniences and health issues. Make sure to pack any items, like bottles, cups, or spoons, needed for your child to drink or eat their food.
  6. A comfortable diaper bag. A great diaper bag that will hold all the gear you need during your travels is worth its weight in gold. There are all types to choose from depending on your preference for carrying the bag. Backpack, over the shoulder, cross body, whatever type fits your needs and is most comfortable for you to carry on your adventures. Buy a quality bag that will last and hold up to many different circumstances and the different conditions you may encounter. Pick a style and design that works with your lifestyle and will hold up to your many needs.
