I am a nervous Nelly when it comes to my children… always have been, especially after losing our Emilee at 5 days. I didn’t sleep well during the first six months of all four of their lives. Even though they were either next to the bed in a bassinet or actually co-sleeping with us, I would wake multiple times during the night to check on them.
When I heard about the Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Digital Video Sensor Pad Baby Monitor I knew it would be perfect for my sister-in-law, as she was quite like me in that respect. Knowing that the monitor would sound an alarm if it didn’t sense movement for a certain amount of time would have given me enough reassurance that I might not have been as sleep deprived as I was.

The monitor was actually very similar to other video monitors I’ve used. The sensor pad was new to me but looked fairly simple to set up.

I decided to play with the video portion a bit before sending it to it’s new home. I loved the clarity, the ease of use (very intuitive) and the temperature sensor. The monitor uses digital technology with 2.4 GHz FHSS for interference free monitoring and video camera with zoom function, 2.8 inch full color LCD screen and infrared night vision camera so you can see your baby day or night. If you look at the upper left side of the blue bar you will see it shows the sensor pad is not plugged in. That would reassure me that I have it assembled correctly. I was pleased with the monitor, but how would it perform with the sensor pad?
I gave the monitor to my sister-in-law to use on her new baby Liam. What did she think?
The baby monitor is super easy to set up. We were a little daunted when we first started reading through the manual, but it’s much easier than it looks. Once we figured out that we can turn down or up the sensitivity, it’s worked great. We love the picture on the camera…. you can see him very clearly. We also love that we don’t have to be nervous wrecks all night long, wondering if he’s ok because he’s so quiet. The alarm already alerted us one evening because he hadn’t moved in too long. He was fine, but it made us feel like we had an extra layer of protection. Even though he’s my second baby, I’m still a little nervous about SIDS. The manual clearly states that it is NOT a prevention for SIDS, but it still makes me feel better.

I prefer rafflecopter, I think it is much more user friendly. My facebook email is always different than my email subscription email.
