I received a copy of Frozen to facilitate my review. All opinions are my own.
As I type this, my three year old son is downstairs singing along with Olaf. When I pick his big sister up from the bus stop in a few hours, she’ll rush home, put on her Elsa dress, and turn on the Blu-ray player. They’ll both sing along to every song and even play the parts of Anna and Hans when “Love is an Open Door” comes on the screen. It’s been this way since we received the Blu-ray Combo Pack a little over a week ago.
I have a feeling we’re not the only house that’s been completely taken over by Frozen, especially considering it’s made over $1 billion at the box office. The Frozen Blu-ray combo pack is already predicted to be the best-selling home movie of the year, and I’m not surprised.
I could go into a whole thing about the HD sound and picture, but the only thing your kids will care about is knowing Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, and Sven are in their homes, ready for them to watch whenever they want. And they will watch it. Over and over and over again.
When you travel, well, they’ll be watching it on their DVD player in the car or on a tablet using the Disney Movies Anywhere app. Over and over again.
And just when you think you’ve heard “Let it Go” enough times, the Bonus Features mean you’ll now get to hear the Demi Lovato version from the credits plus versions in Italian, Spanish, and Malaysian. Over and over again.
There’s a fantastic featurette “D’frosted: Disney’s Journey From Hans Christian Anderson to Frozen” which you’ll love, but your kids will ask you to skip because they just HAVE to watch the movie again. Over and over again.
They will love the deleted scenes, especially because they get to see how an animated film is first conceptualized and recorded, but they’ll want to watch them once and get back to watching the movie. Over and over again.
Listen, you know your kids loved Frozen. You know you have to go out and buy the Blu-ray Combo Pack today. You know have to just let it go and be prepared to watch it over and over again.
