Holiday Gift Guide 2013 | Soda Stream Home Carbonation System

I received a sample for review. All opinions are my own.

Photo1
I have been curious about the Soda Stream for some time now. I was excited when Soda Stream agreed to send one for review… I was also excited to save money and be able to make my own pop at home whenever we like.

Photo2
Opening the box there really wasn’t much to putting it together. The instructions that come with are pretty easy to follow and with a few short simple steps the Soda Stream was complete and ready to be put to work.

3,4,5
To make you own soda it is as easy as filling up your bottle (included) with tap water, screw the bottle onto the Soda Stream and press the button to carbonate your water. The more you press the more you will carbonate. I personally like it a little more bubbly so I give a couple extra presses.

Photo6
Now the fun part! Pick your flavor and pour in a cap full. I have found with a few of the flavors you may like to adjust to your taste, some I do a little less and some I add a little more.

First time I poured the flavor into the carbonated water I poured it all in at once pretty fast… whoops that was a mistake! I had a bubbling volcano that wouldn’t stop. My kids were amused by the mess going on. So I have learned  to pour it in slowly and there is no mess. I do wish there was a little pour spout on the lid because it tends to run down the side of the lid and run off the bottom, but it’s fairly simple to measure and pour.

Photo7
My family has loved our Soda Stream. We don’t buy a lot of pop for the house so as a treat with supper I will let the kids pick out their own pop and make it themselves. They get such a feeling of accomplishment when it’s that easy. My kids are 3 and 5 years old and can make it themselves with a little help to pour the flavor.

The flavors are great, I personally like root beer the most, my husband’s favorite is ginger ale, and my kids love the Kool-Aid. The only wish I have is that I’d like to see a way to label (and re-label) the bottles. When we all have our own flavor in the fridge some are the same color it gets tricky to tell them apart.

For any soda drinker, I think the Soda Stream is the PERFECT gift! The Soda Stream Genesis that I received is $99 and when you think about how much money people spend on pop now a days that is a incredible price savings. You can shop Soda Stream online and find the perfect Soda Stream for your family. I find their grid with all the Soda Streams showing all the functions and features very helpful to determine which is best for you.

I liked that it has all our favorite flavors. Cream , Rootbeer, Dr. Pete and Strawberry are my family favorites. My favorite flavor is hard to find. I love Cream Soda and I can’t find it in most of our local stores. With the Soda Stream I would be able to have my favorite flavor any time all the time! I couldn’t believe all the options like Crystal Light, Ocean Spray and even Kool Aid. They have any drink you could possibly ever want other than Milk. I also like that I wouldn’t have to lug heavy soda all the time and deal with all those returnables. I watched the video and it was so funny but true too. Just think of all those bottles that would never end up in the land fill if we all used Soda Stream. This would save me a lot of hassle because 99% of the bottles I have to cart to the redemption center are soda and juice bottles. Thank you for sharing this fabulous new product with all your readers!

I learned that bottled water is not safer then tap water. The bottled water industry has created a misconception in the United States that bottled water is cleaner, safer, and healthier than tap water. That’s one of the reasons SodaStream is better for the environment. You don’t need to buy bottles water.
