Home Makeover with Danze Prince Two Handled Bathroom Faucet
Our house was a few years old when we purchased it about ten years ago. I never really had an issue with the bathroom faucets, but have always looked at them at standard builders grade models that had fairly regular issues with the drain plug getting stuck. When I was given the chance to review a Prince™ Two Handle Widespread Lavatory Faucet I jumped at it! I was hoping that even a change this small would “spiff up” the hall bathroom just a bit.
The faucet arrived and we eagerly took everything out to give it a once over. I was impressed with the weight and feel of the faucet. It was solidly built and had a nice quality feel to it… definitely not a cheap little number from “the marts”.
- Ceramic disc valve.
- 3 ¾" spout length, laminar flow.
- Metal touch down drain assembly.
- 3 hole mount, 6" – 12" installation.
- Compliant with low lead content requirements of California AB-1953 and Vermont Act 193.
After laying everything out on the counter to take inventory we realized we needed to make a quick run to the hardware store for water supply hoses (not included in the kit). My husband picked up a few other items to fix the slap dash install the builders did and he was ready to go.
My husband had a little difficulty initially with the install, but he said it was because he didn’t have the correct tool. He mentioned the instructions state that they recommend you use a plumber to install the faucet, but he thinks that anyone fairly handy with a little knowledge about plumbing could install it easily.
I’m loving the new faucet and the new look! I am pleased with how just the switching out of a faucet changed the look and feel of the room. It operates smoothly and easily…neither of the little kids have had a problem operating it. My favorite feature of all is the drain plug. Instead of pulling a knob behind the faucet to close it you simply push down on the actual plug. To open it, push on it again and it springs back up. The only time I could see that this wouldn’t be my favorite way to open it is if the sink contained gross water (which doesn’t happen often).
The list price for the Prince Two Handled Faucet is $343.00. Check here for a location near you to purchase.
