Chilis $50 Gift Certificate

Chilis has two new options just in time for Valentines Day. The new Lighter Choices menu features dishes 750 calories and 25g fat or less. This is fantastic news for those of us still sticking to our New Years Resolutions.

The $20 Dinner for 2 offers 2 full-size entrees and an appetizer. This is a great option for sticking to a budget.

Chili’s Lighter Choices entrees are (*denotes new menu item):
*Grilled Chicken Salad – grilled chicken with cheese, tomatoes, black beans, corn relish and honey-lime vinaigrette served atop field greens (420 calories);
Lighter Choice Santa Fe Chicken Wrap – with corn, tortilla strips, avocado and tomatoes. Served with steamed broccoli, and a side of low-fat ranch (680 calories);
Lighter Choice Grilled Chicken Sandwich – with tomato, lettuce and non-fat honey mustard dressing on a wheat bun. Served with steamed broccoli (610 calories);
*Lighter Choice 6 ounce Classic Sirloin – 100 percent USDA Choice sirloin with carne asada rub and pico de gallo. Served with steamed broccoli (260 calories);
Margarita Grilled Chicken – classic Margarita-flavored grilled chicken with hints of lime and citrus, served with rice, black beans, tortilla strips and house-made pico de gallo (550 calories);
*Sweet & Spicy Chicken – Habanero and sweet orange glaze brushed over grilled chicken with onions and peppers. Served with rice and steamed broccoli (670 calories);
Lighter Choice Grilled Salmon with Garlic & Herbs – served with rice and steamed broccoli (480 calories).

Kaytlin and I decided to order from the 2 for $20 menu. There really isn’t a vegetarian option on that portion of the menu, but our waitress was kind enough to substitute bean burger patties for the hamburger option. We also started our meal with bottomless chips and salsa… mmmmm.

The bean burger was cooked to perfection, not overly tough but not soggy. I had eaten my share of chips and salsa before the meal so half the “burger” and a few fries were more than enough for me. I had them box the rest and shared with my husband when I got home.

Ethan and Emma had the chicken strips and fries basket. It’s not the healthiest option on the menu for them, but because we don’t eat like this all the time I allowed them to splurge.

The kids meals come with more than enough food for the typical 2-5 year old. They actually could have shared a basket after munching on the chips and salsa during our wait. Both kids dove in without a single complaint, which is amazing as they are normally super picky about taste or texture.

Believe it or not, even after an appetizer, 2 main meals, 2 drinks and 2 kids meals we still had enough left on our $50 gift certificate to order dessert. NOT that I had enough room in my belly… I had 2 bites of this fabulous molten chocolate cake with ice cream. The kids did a great job polishing it off for us.

It had been ages since we had visited Chilis. The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, the service was friendly, quick and accurate and the food was delicious and more than ample sized servings.

Chilis is a great place to reconnect over a Valentines Day dinner without breaking the bank!

We have been to Chili’s for birthday celebrations for family, but occurred to me after looking at their lunch menu that we have NEVER had lunch there. I found they have this Express lunch special which would be great to get in and out quick during work lunch time. My husband would love this

I learned the closest Chilis to me is Laramie, WY (about a 3 hour drive) but my daughter lives there and she would be so tickled if I won this for her. That dessert in your review would make me want to drive 3 hours. LOL (if I had a car)

I learned their light menu actually has choices that I think sound yummy instead of some restaurants where the light fare looks and sounds like it will not taste good at all or be worth the money.
