Sleep Innovations Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, Pillows & REMedy Bed Upgrade Kit : Review [CLOSED Giveaway]

We were sent a queen sized 2.5 inch Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper for Kaytlin to try out. She has been sleeping on a used mattress that I am sure is way over the 8 year replacement suggestion. She doesn’t complain much about the mattress, but she is often times very sleepy even though she has been “asleep” for an adequate amount of time.

She eagerly went to work putting the new topper on her old mattress. The mattress pad goes on top of the mattress and unzips to expose the “pocket” where you place the gel/foam topper. Adjust it properly and then zip it in. When she came upstairs after dressing her bed she had a huge grin on her face. She was very excited to announce her bed was very comfortable and she was excited to sleep on it that night.

It’s been several weeks since Kaytlin put her topper on her bed. Since then, her brother has broken his arm… and she refused to give up her topper for him to have a softer bed (all in jest, but it was a statement!). She has mentioned several times that she feels more rested in the morning even though she isn’t “sleeping” longer and she loves her Novaform topper.

Kaytlin wears a Fitbit that measures her activity and sleep habits among other things. She was kind enough to take a screen shot of her “before” and “after” sleep record to show what a huge difference the Novaform mattress topper has made for her.

Before the Novaform Gel Memory Foam Mattress Topper, she woke up as many at 19 times a night to turn over/readjust. After… amazingly only 3 times awakened.

We were also sent a set of two Sleep Innovations Memory Foam Cluster Gusseted Pillows. I am a side sleeper and the other memory foam pillows I have tested were just too firm and non forgiving… I woke up with headaches. Those $100 pillows have been passed on and I have claimed these pillows for my own. These are ideal for side and back sleepers that need a little forgiveness but still want support. They are made of gel-infused memory foam and they are soft but conforming. They offer enough support to relieve pressure for a more comfortable nights sleep… and no more headaches!

Our final item to review was the REMedy Bed Upgrade Kit.

This is a prepackaged set that includes a 1.5” gel-memory foam topper and a Gel Memory Foam Grande Pillow filled with Micro Cushions. The REMedy set is available in Twin and Twin XL.

Emma was the fortunate recipient of this set, as she is the only person with a twin sized bed in the house. The topper was the same quality as the queen sized one we put on Kaytlin’s bed, but in 1.5” instead of 2.5”. Putting it on the bed is a little different, but still very simple. Place the gel-memory foam topper on the mattress and then stretch the provided mattress protector over the topper and mattress and you are done (sorry for the pink tint… Emma’s room glows pink )!

Emma’s mattress is a very old one from my grandmother’s guest bedroom. Despite it’s age, it was rarely used and I felt it was adequate for Emma. I always felt just a little bad, though, as it is an extra firm mattress (and is not comfortable to me in the least).

The gel-memory foam combination still gives Emma the firm support she has grown accustomed to, but yet it has give and a little cushion for a more “cloud-like” feel. I tried to take a photo of my handprint in the topper (above) to show just how much squish there is.

I’ve found myself so comfortable when tucking her in that I get drowsy and could drift off to sleep with her. I cannot say that of that particular mattress before the topper. Emma hasn’t mentioned a difference, but I have noticed that she has slept in several mornings now and even when she does not, she is still cheerful and less grouchy than before the mattress topper.

The pillow included was almost identical to the two sent above and has been (quickly) claimed by Joshua. He used the “other” memory foam pillows I mentioned above and kindly returned them after a few nights use. He has been begging for another memory foam pillow and is quite pleased with this one.

The REMedy Bed Upgrade Kit would be a perfect gift for the graduate in your life or for the new college student heading off to the dorms. I can speak from experience… dorm beds are not comfortable and sleep is very important for learning!

We had actually been window shopping for memory foam toppers for our room and possibly Kaytlin’s room for a while now. The price has always stopped us…. until now.
