Magic Chef Countertop Microwave Oven

Magic Chef Countertop Microwave Oven

Sample received. All opinions are my own.

My son is gearing up for his big move to college this fall… which means it’s time to start collecting all of his dorm room essentials now.

One of the biggest wants/needs on his list was a microwave. At his college he has to walk across campus to get to the dining hall. I am guessing that there will probably be a lot of re-heating or warming up microwave snacks in his room to avoid bitter cold conditions or rain. Hence the want/need for a good microwave!

We were sent a Magic Chef 1.3 cu. ft. Countertop Microwave Oven for my son to try out.

This particular model had several nice features that he liked:

Contemporary Design with Stainless Steel Front & Black Cabinet
Easy-Touch Electronic Controls with Digital Display
Convenient Preprogrammed One-Touch Cooking Modes
Auto Defrost Modes by Weight or Time
Express Cooking Function for Quick Cooking & Reheating
User-Friendly Push-Button Door Release for Easy Access
Customize Cooking with the Choice of 11 Power Levels

As you can see, it is not a compact microwave oven. Even so, my son was thrilled with the contemporary style.

There is plenty of room inside this oven for any of his college needs. It should last him throughout college and be a perfect addition to his apartment afterwards.

So, our first thing to try? Popcorn of course! I already have cases of microwave popcorn on my shopping list for his room.

We’ve tried several things since the popcorn and were pleased with our outcome.

I feel good about sending this microwave with him because I know even on his lazy days he will still be able to eat something besides a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

  1. I just went and looked at new appliances yesterday (we need all new ones, from fridge to microwave and everything in between!). The microwaves were all so huge — this is a much better fit for our kitchen. Thanks for sharing — perfect timing!

My micro recently went out and had to replace it. I did look at this one during my search to find a good one. I wanted to keep with the red theme in my kitchen so I went with a Kenmore that I found in red.

This looks like a very nice microwave for your son to take to college, and I even would love to own one of these brands next time I buy one. It looks powerful and very classy on the outside!
