Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get The Sillies Out!

Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get The Sillies Out!

Saturday February 23, 2013 the kids and I packed up to see the 2:00 show of Yo Gabba Gabba! Live! Get The Sillies Out! We have been to Yo Gabba Gabba Live! twice… once in 2010 for their There’s A Party In My City! tour and in 2011 for their It’s Time To Dance! tour… so the kids were revved up and ready to DANCE!

This particular event was held at The Midland in Kansas City, MO. This is a beautiful and historical venue with ample seating and plenty of aisle room for the kids to get their sillies out! I could feel the anticipation from all the children around me as the lights dimmed and the music began to play. I noticed a few children seated in front of us holding their ears, but my two had no complaints… they actually got out of their seats almost immediately and started dancing in the aisle.

The photos above are of some of our favorite songs they performed. Most of the 1st half (before intermission) was spent in the aisle dancing and wiggling. I could hear the giggles and squeals coming from all around me and it made me smile ear to ear. I loved how Yo Gabba Gabba! got them moving and interacting with the music/show.

My kids especially love when confetti is shot out, which happens three times during the show. Ethan was found several times during the 2nd act on the floor collecting confetti and tossing it. They were also intrigued with the bubbles being blown during the bubbles song, but unfortunately the bubbles only covered the first section of the crowd. By the time they asked if they could go catch some the aisles were full of parents and kids trying to catch one tiny bubble.

The entire atmosphere is energetic. It all starts by walking into the hall with the lights already dimmed. Kids all over the arena are chattering and playing with their glowing toys. Hint: We bring glowing toys from home for our children to enjoy because we cannot afford the price tag times two for the branded items.

The first act brings the adrenaline with confetti and interactive music that is drawn out through to intermission. With my two being a bit older, the second act lost them a little. Songs like Peek a Boo and Don’t Be Afraid (of the dark) they looked at me like “where’s the dancing?!”. They began asking when we could leave when there was about 10 minutes left of the show. We asked them to please stay, which they did. The last song included a shot of confetti which drew them back in with giggles and smiles.

When asked… they both swore they had a fabulous time and want to go again.

Check out these clips of the kids having a wonderful time!
