SentrySafe Quick Access Pistol Safe Review

SentrySafe Quick Access Pistol Safe Review

Sentry-Safe-Logo

September is Child Safety Month. Although a pistol safe isn’t a typical “child safety” item that would immediately come to mind like a baby monitor, it can be a life saver… literally.

I recently contacted SentrySafe in response to a local incident. A 3 year old child found his Dad’s pistol and accidentally shot (and killed) his sibling while playing with it. With my husband’s line of work, we have had a pistol in the house for 20+ years. Up until recently we had been relying on pistol locks and keeping the gun on a high shelf, but in an emergency a pistol lock can be clumsy and the key may be on the other side of the room.

The Sentry Safe Quick Access Pistol Safe is one of the best products I have found on the market with the attributes I was looking for. This safe offers features such as a zero feedback electronic lock and compression gas strut allowing you to quickly defend your home when seconds count. Engineered with a solid steel, pry-resistant door, your home and family are protected by the most secure pistol safe SentrySafe has ever made.

This safe can be opened by pressing a programmed series of buttons or with the key. In an emergency situation the buttons are in a great location and easily found then pushed… even in the dark. There is plenty of space inside for my husband’s concealed weapon as well as a duty pistol.

Some of the amazing selling points that convinced me this was the safe for us…Screen shot 2012-09-25 at 5.01.04 PM

Amazing, right? But my main concern over all of the “emergency” talk is the safety of my inquisitive children. They can bang on this safe, push the buttons to their hearts content and will never know where we keep the key which means they will never accidentally discharge Daddy’s gun.
