|Sanük started in July, 1997. Jeff Kelley began with making sandals out of inner tubes and indoor-outdoor carpet. Over the years they have progressed into a semi-proper footwear company. Jeff’s spirit still powers the company today. Their focus is still as much about funk as function. Because “Sanük” is the Thai word for FUN, their name is also their mantra.Sanük gears their products for the global outdoor community, mostly because their employees are a part of it. Their headquarters are in Southern California, but their growth has brought distribution across the United States and into over 50 countries across Europe, Asia, South American and even Australia.|
Sanük sent both Emma & Ethan a pair of flip flops to start out their spring on the right foot.

I had a slight accident with my digital photos and all the cute shots of Emma & Ethan wearing these sandals are gone *sob sob*. I shall recover (I think).
Sanük’s selection of kids flip flops had me completely undecided. They have so many to choose from!
I finally decided Emma would love the Yoga Mat flip flops.
I think that the foot bed made from yoga mat material had me intrigued. I have worn the cheap variety from “the marts” and their comfort leaves something to be desired. With Emma’s feet growing so quickly, I wanted quality footwear.
After feeling the footbed on Emma’s flip flops… I’m wishing I had a pair! The yoga mat material forms to her foot and Emma says she loves her flip flops. They are pink and comfy. I like that they are durable, cute, and that they give her support but still allow for comfort. The fact that there are no animal products used to construct them is a huge bonus!
|Ethan received a pair of Who’s Afraid flip flops. These remind me of beach sandals with the frayed canvas strap.|
The extra elastic strap that goes behind his heel (included on toddler sizes) helps keep the flip flops on while running or just dangling his feet. This is a huge plus… it saves me frustration and time looking for that one lost sandal/flip flop.
The molded EVA footbed has just enough give that they are super comfy, but not so squishy that a toddler would lose stability. Ethan still has his clumsy moments.
Overall I am super impressed with both pair of flip flops. They are stylish, comfortable and affordable. I spend that much money on stiff, hard and uncomfortable sandals from “the marts” for the kids… I will be coming back to Sanük for more. I’m thinking a pair of womens sandals might in order for mommy!
