I don’t normally offer my children juice. I prefer that they consume their fruit without the extra sugar. So when O.N.E. Drinks contacted me about their new coconut water based fruit drinks that are 100% organic with no added sugar I was intrigued.
We received a case, 4 flavors with 8 juice boxes of each. Emma & Ethan were eager to try their new juice. I tried a sip before offering it to them. It is not super sweet like regular juice. It had a hint of the flavor indicated on the box, with a little coconut taste as well. I wondered if they would like it (to be honest I wasn’t so sure).
I offered them the apple flavor with their lunches. I watched as the ate and drank to see how they reacted. My observations were that they definitely didn’t guzzle it like they do when they do have juice, but they didn’t act like they disliked it either. They both left about 1/3 of the juice box behind after lunch. When they do have juice boxes, they are empty before lunch is over. Over the past month I have noticed that they have been asking for them more often and they are coming closer to finishing the boxes. I like that they don’t guzzle them, that they are actually drinking it to quench thirst instead of just drinking it because it tastes good.
O.N.E. juice for kids is gluten free, no sugar added, 100% organic and focused on hydration with a proper balance of potassium, sodium and carbohydrates. There are only 60 calories in a juice box and I feel better about offering these to the kids instead of regular juice boxes. There are so many health benefits with drinking coconut water, too.
As an update… I had to take this picture of Ethan from the other night. Emma & Ethan had both had a juice box with lunch and he snuck one out of the fridge right before bed and was helping himself. Little stinker!
