Hasbro games have become a staple in our house and are always a part of family game night (or afternoon). Hasbro’s newest addition to their game repertoire is Scrabble Flash. This electronic version of the classic game challenges you to make make words out of the electronic tiles… but you only have so much time!
Geared for ages 8 and up this game features two solo games, and a multi player level where you swap tiles back and forth until someone can’t complete a word.
Our Take: My husband is a huge Scrabble fan and I have always teased him about his large vocabulary. Myself, I have made friends with two books… Mr. Dictionary and Mr. Thesaurus. It can be frustrating trying to play a brain game when you just don’t feel brainy.
My husband and Kaytlin took to Scrabble Flash instantly. They played a few rounds of multi-player and then discovered the solo round (have I mentioned we tend to jump into things and then read the directions? lol). I have caught them on several occasions just playing a round or two alone during a quiet moment in the house (like those happen often, right?).
So I decided to give it a shot. Instead of playing against brain 1 and brain 2, I opted for the solo mission. It was very simple to start and the game was on!
You know what? I decided that Scrabble isn’t so bad after all! When you play against yourself… it’s kind of (should I say it??)… fun! I love that it stores away in the small black case provided. We have been leaving it on the lazy Susan on the kitchen table so that when someone has a few quiet minutes they can play a round or two.
