Several weeks ago I received an amazing email inviting me to New York City to attend the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet screening of Marvel’s The Avengers. After the initial excitement wore off I began to panic a little. As a stay at home mom, I don’t normally dress up… therefore I had nothing to wear.
After a little searching I found a dress that works well for me, but I was still very much unaccessorized. Dress Barn heard my cries and kindly offered to let me visit a local store to find a few items to help complete my outfits for the weekend.
My dress hadn’t arrived yet, so I arrived at the store knowing that it was black and had a v-neckline. When I found the jewelry rack I was surprised and very happy to see such a wide variety of bangles, bobbles and beads that would work for me.
It didn’t take long to find a necklace I thought would work well for my neckline, but I wasn’t sure I wanted to wear the ear rings it came with. I spent quite a bit of time laying them out on the countertops trying to picture how everything would piece together.
In the end, I found a fabulous triple row shell and glass necklace and some dangly square ear rings that have a little sparkle to them when the light catches just right for the red carpet. I snagged a set of extenders because I wanted the necklace to hit just a tad lower than it did without them and I also found some fun socks (as well as brown & black) and another pair of beyond cute owl ear rings for the other days of my trip.
When my dress came I couldn’t wait to see how the necklace would look so I did a quick clothing change and modeled for Kaytlin. I will be doing another post later about my overall look for the night, so for now here is a quick glimpse how perfect the necklace was for this dress.
