Joshua is 14 and has been at an age for a couple of years now that he says he doesn’t need a costume and that he isn’t going to trick or treat, and then he tosses on his costume from 3 years ago the night of Halloween and goes. It’s inevitable… the pull of free candy is too hard to resist.
When Anytime Costumes offered to let us review a costume and I noticed they had teen/adult sized costumes, I made Josh search the site with me.
At first he wanted to be a Snickers bar. Yeah, really. Then he saw the Glowman costume and the video of real people wearing it. Then he had to have it. I tried a few times to continue browsing, but he kept insisting… so Gloman it was (btw, I finished browsing without him and the selection is fantastic with reasonable prices, too).
I was a little worried about the lights, but found that this particular costume does not use “glow sticks”. It is wired with El Wire and has multiple functions (on, blinking and off).
The jumpsuit is the typical nylon material most costumes are made of, nothing fancy. This costumes does require 2 AA batteries (not included) but they are simple to install and the controller is actually in a small pocket on the outside of the thigh. That makes it easier to switch modes quickly and by touch.
Joshua is very pleased with his costume and can’t wait to freak the little kids out on Halloween.
You can purchase the Gloman costume (they DO make a GlowGirl, too) for $49.99
