Weekly Weigh In Weeks 30 & 26 on Nutrisystem #NSNation

weeklyweighinIt’s been 30 weeks on Nutrisystem for myself and 26 weeks for Kaytlin.

This week I finally made the decision to move my butt. My husband and son have fallen in love with running and to be honest it has peaked my curiosity. I am still a bigger girl, though, and I thought there was no way in heck I could run. My husband told me about a program called the Couch to 5k Running Plan.

I am not a total couch potato, but in the past… well, I was never successful trying to run. Between my large chest and the extra skin on my stomach it was downright painful to run. Not to mention my knees. When I tried a couple months back to do the 30 Day Shred, jumping jacks hurt like heck.

So… I found a great minimizer bra and I decided I needed a girdle to hold my stomach down.

This first week we fast walked/jogged three days for 25 minutes total. We jogged/ran 60 seconds then walked 90 seconds. We noticed each time that our finishing point was a little further down the trail… we were actually picking up speed without knowing/trying!

I also started using a fabulous little gadget call Body Media to help track my intake, calories burned, activity and the like (I will be sharing this with you in a review!).  My goal is to walk 8000 steps a day… on days I am running a little behind I jump on the elliptical to meet my goal. I am also noticing on the elliptical that I have shed 5 minutes off my mile… without trying!

Kaytlin is also moving along with me and she is tracking her progress with a Fit Bit (she will share this with you in a review & giveaway!). This operates with the same tracking concepts and it’s a great motivator for her as well.

So we are moving our bodies, tracking our intake, meeting our calorie deficit goals…

So, let’s get to the business at hand… I know you are curious how we did…

This week I gained 2.2 lbs.

Surprised? I was a little, too. Then I Googled “weight gain while running” and found this article. I know I have been doing well this week with my eating… sticking to the plan and tracking/meeting my goals. Sooo… I am going to assume this is water/muscle weight and will push through it. We will see what the next couple of weeks bring!

That puts me at  31.8 lbs in 30 weeks

  1. I do think there is something to the water/muscle thing, numbers on the scale really don’t mean as uch when you KNOWyou’re doing everything right. I like to use the fit of my clothesand the feel of my attitude…sounds like your attitude is right where it should be!
