Sagging Boobs, Furniture Syndrome & Mommy Makeovers

Sagging Boobs, Furniture Syndrome & Mommy Makeovers

I have always had a slight body image issue that I’ve learned to deal with over the years. I’m more than accepting of the aging process… you know, things like crows feet, laugh lines… stuff like that. My main issue is that I am more than aware of my body’s flaws and I do my best to work on them and cover them up with flattering clothing.

swimsuitcartoonThe combination of gravity and the fact that I’ve given birth to five babies hasn’t helped that particular issue in the least. Seriously… with each baby my body changes in ways I never thought were possible. Somehow while I’m carrying each child they are secretively re-arranging my genetic code so that after I give birth to them I don’t recognize the body in my mirror’s reflection. I may get back to my pre-pregnancy weight quickly enough but somehow the fat is in all new areas making it impossible to button my pants or be comfortable in my tops.

Not only that, but my boobs have become deflated balloons from a combined total of FIFTY MONTHS of breastfeeding and I’ve developed a rare condition called “drawer syndrome”.

What is that you ask?

Well, to put it in the simplest terms possible… my boobs are in my drawers.

Fortunately there are several ways to disguise these flaws. Things like Spanx and padded push up bras have become every day items in my wardrobe in my efforts to camouflage them. I have successfully lost enough weight that at some point in my life I might consider a body lift, but more for comfort (skin removal) than for vanity reasons. There is one area of my body that I cannot cover, though, and that is my neckline. I’ve actually looked into remedies for that area a little bit and found a great resource on the Houston Liposuction Center website.

This particular patient has the same issue I do… no jaw line. Mine isn’t to this degree, but it’s the same issue. No matter what size I’ve been, I’ve never had one. I know that losing more weight will help, but in reality I know that unless I do something like liposuction I will always look like this from the side. For me it’s genetic. My Mom, Dad and sister all have the same type of profile. I am very self conscious of this area of my face and hate to wear my hair up because of it. I’ve been planning my trip to LA next month including what dress I will wear and how I will style my hair. You can bet it won’t be “up”.

Liposuction isn’t in my near future, but I can safely say that with the advances in liposuction I may seriously look in this direction in a few more years. As the kids get a little older I am thinking a small Mommy Makeover may be called for.

Mine creep closer to my drawers daily. It’s sad, really.

Maxine. I love her now I’m going to be her!

ive thought about lipo too..get rid of my mommy belly..but dont think id ever actually do it

  3. It is not something I would do (I am too scared of anything that can even be named “surgery”) but if you feel it will help you – why not? After all, when a mum feels good she is happy and when she is happy the kids are happy, too 🙂

I used to be thin all over. Now…let’s just say that I m a lot more woman than I used to be! If I could just figure out how to lose the belly and thighs, but keep the boobs I have now…

Everything seems to be sagging as I get older. I need to lose weight and I am afraid that it will make things more saggy, but I know it will make me healthier. After I lose weight I could probably use a body lift, but I am terrified of surgery.

  6. You are still a beautiful woman! I too don’t like the way my neck is. For me, I will not have surgery. I have had enough of them, with 3 c-sections and one gallbladder. I am still trying to be happy with who I am and except my body. Just want to be more healthy than I have been in the past. That is why I have enjoyed your clean eating series.
