I found Rubbabu toys by accident while surfing for fun educational toys for Emma and Ethan. I was instantly drawn into their website and spent quite a bit of time web shopping. I decided we had to have some of their toys and I was beyond thrilled when they agreed to a review!
Rubbabu’s hand made natural foam toys in simple shapes and bright colors are loved by kids and parents alike.
Soft and safe for even the youngest children, tactile and bendable, they offer endless play value and learning.
Rubbabu toys encourage imaginative play. They are strong and durable, one of those toys that become a child’s favorite companion for many years.
I was giddy when the box arrived from Rubbabu.
The first toy out of the box was the Magnetic Alphabet (Upper Case).
I’ve done the whole plastic alphabet on the fridge thing with my two older children. While I firmly believe in the educational value of physically manipulating the letters, I always ended up trashing them one (or two) at a time as I stepped on them and mumbled random “bad words” to myself.
As I took these out of the box, I uttered a soft “ahhhhhhh”. They are velvety soft and the natural foam makes them squishy. I had considered putting them on my fridge, but decided to use the back of our front door for them because I get irritated with kids underfoot while I am trying to cook for a family of six.
So off to the front door we went.
After setting them up I gave the children the thumbs up and they had a blast!
You will see in the video below, they even started putting letters together and asking me what they spell.
Emma has been practicing with a few words and went right to work making them out of these.
My only disappointment with this set is… it’s only one set. There is one of each letter, so Emma cannot spell her own name. She was okay with it, though, and still enjoys them on almost a daily basis.
We had a big family birthday party this weekend and there was a crowd of children from 3 through 10 playing with them and having a great time. I love that if one happens to land on the floor and is not picked up right away… it doesn’t kill my feet to accidentally step on one. I also love that if the children get a little aggressive with each other (and hit each other with the letters… and it does happen), feelings are the only thing that gets hurt.
Next out of the box was the Little Vehicles Assortment.
Ethan loves anything with wheels… cars, trucks, planes, wagons… you get the drift. As I took the tags off each vehicles I examined them for myself (as much as he would let me). I love the feel of the natural foam… it squishy and soft and is covered in a soft velvety material. The wheels spin easily and they are easy for him to keep upright while wheeling them around. I adore toys that children have to use their imaginations with. Ethan likes to make his vehicles “go” with engine noises, honks and airplane noises.
You will see in the video below, Emma and Josh like to roll the cars back and forth.
I love everything about these vehicles and wouldn’t change a thing about them!
Last but not least, are the Funky Balls Assortment.
Balls were one of Ethan’s first “loves”. If it’s round, bouncy and he can toss it he loves it. He was drawn to this set because of the size, textures and colors. These are also made of the natural foam (soft and squishy) and instinctively I started squeezing them like a stress ball.
The different textures make them roll differently and the kids have a great time trying to roll them to each other without sending them to another part of the living room. Again, if they get aggressive there are just a few hurt feelings because of their soft design.
This assortment of balls is perfect for little hands. Emma and Ethan can easily grasp them with one hand, they are soft, bumpy and bouncy. You can never have too many balls! We’d love to have all of the sets!
