I am a woman of simple wants. I want a foundation that doesn’t blind my companions from the shine it creates, I want quick and lasting application with all of my makeup products, I prefer them to be cruelty free and I want it all in just a few products. Simple enough, right? *insert giggles here*
My makeup routine is fairly simple. Moisturizer, foundation, eye shadow, eye liner and mascara and in that order. I don’t like to look overly made up and in most instances I try to look as “natural” as possible.
To my amazement, I believe I have found the answer to my makeup questions. I do not have a lot to cover up as far as complexion, but I do have uneven skin tone and a small amount of rosacea on my cheeks. I thought I was doing well with a pressed powder foundation I purchase at a local “mart”… but I have always in the back of my mind wondered if the mineral foundations really did what they said they did on the infomercials.
I started with the 4-in-1 Pressed Mineral Makeup Foundation With SPF 15 . With a couple of taps in the foundation with the Chisel Makeup Brush I then applied it to my cheeks. I could hardly believe how well that tiny amount of powder evened my skin tone and diminished the redness (I have tiny red veins) in my cheeks. I finished up with the rest of my face with only having to “refill” my brush a couple of times and I was done. It looked and felt fresh and very natural.
The next step in my routine is applying my eye shadow. I did so, and then reached for the Mineral Eye Defining Pencil with Smudger. I love a sharp pencil with a smooth glide to it. This particular one did the job very well and even offered a smudger tip on the opposite end. It is a never sharpen pencil (love those) and is now part of my every day routine.
My final step is applying mascara. I chose the Triple Impact Mascara because my eye lashes are pretty whimpy and they could use a triple impact. Initially using the mascara was smooth and uneventful, but after several days of use I started to get a little clumping on the brush. If I scrape the side of the wand against the tube when pulling it out, it takes care of my problem and I can then apply to my eyelashes normally. As you can see from the photo below, the triple impact mascara lives up to it’s name. One eye has the mascara applied and the other does not.
My final thoughts on the products:
I am sold on the 4-in-1 pressed mineral foundation. Not only does it cover and even the skin tone, it contains SPF 15 to help prevent excessive sun exposure. It is super simple to use, you don’t have to use a ton of it and it stays put all day. With my “old” pressed powder foundation I would have to re-apply if I was going to leave the house at the end of the day. With Pür Minerals, I still have that healthy glow that does not look overly shiny or greasy.
The eye products…
I am still thoroughly enjoying the mineral eye defining pencil. It goes on smooth even now that the point has worn down and it’s easy to smudge to get a “not so perfect” line. It stays put all day and I have even accidentally rubbed my eyes and found that it didn’t smear.
The mascara goes on well and accents the eyelashes as promised. I do have that clumping issue with the applicator (see more about that in my video below), but I have figured my way around that and it doesn’t clump up in my eyelashes like cheaper mascara does. I would love to have tried this in a waterproof formula.
And finally… Pür Minerals is CRUELTY FREE!
What does that mean? They do not test on animals.
I will be buying more Pür Minerals soon!
