Every time we go to the toy store my 4 year old will run to the bike section, the first thing he grabs is a 3 wheeled scooter and glides up and down the aisles. After seeing his face light up I knew that Santa was going to put this on his “Toys to Make” list.

This will be the first time that my son is venturing into something that could potentially bring him bumps and bruises so I wanted to make sure what I was purchasing would be high quality and keep him safe.

yBike presented the opportunity to review a yBike Glider, which is essentially a 3 wheeled scooter. I was very excited about this opportunity as yBike is a well known name and has a reputation of building bikes with top safety features in mind.

My first impression of the yBike Glider was how pleasing it was to the eye. The deck of the Glider comes in different colors, we received green and it couldn’t be any more stylish. Along the deck you will find plastic ribs that help keep your child on the scooter making it easier to learn balance and coordination.

Another feature that I really like is the plastic ribbed handle bars, this will keep my little monkey holding on tight! When not in use the aluminum handle bar is easily removed making this yBike Glider easy to transport in your car or to store away in your garage or closet.

The yBike Glider comes with 2 large front wheels and 1 super wide back wheel, when standing on the Glider it was easy to lean side to side while steering without feeling like you were going to fall off. To stop the Glider while riding simply hit the back wheel with your foot and the wheel cover you see in the picture will push down on the wheel just enough to bring your child to a stop.

I really feel that yBike put a lot of thought and detail into the design of this Glider. The yBike Glider is stylish enough to remain “cool” and practical enough to help my little monkey learn how to ride. I would recommend the yBike Glider to any child who is wanting to venture up, this is a great product to teach balance and coordination before moving them into a two wheel scooter.
