Pure Energy * Pure Fun
You’d never know it by looking at this oddly shaped “car”… but this has become the coveted item in our household lately. Meet the Plasma Car. This molded piece of plastic on wheels is a totally kid powered vehicle that works on the basis of friction.
The kids plant their rear in the large black area and put their feet up in the black section in front by the steering column. To propel the car, simply move the handle back and forth. It’s actually rather intuitive to do and once you get moving (sometimes the kids will push with their feet a bit to get moving) you can pick up quite a bit of speed. Steering is very accurate and they have no troubles whatsoever turning corners to go around the kitchen table. To turn circles (my kids like to do this just for kicks), turn the steering column in circles.
This is one of the most versatile toys in our house. Just about everyone, young and old alike, has taken a ride on the Plasma Car. The weight limit on a smooth surface is 200 lbs and on a rough surface is 110 lbs. This makes the Plasma Car one of the few toys that will be used for years on end before you child will outgrow it.
There are many pros to purchasing a Plasma Car. It’s fun, fast, doesn’t use gas, batteries or cords, it can really pick up some speed and (this) Mom allows the Plasma Car to be ridden in the house. The price can be a bit off putting, but if you think about the overall length of use your child is going to get out of this car (instead of just a year or two with tricycles and the like) it’s a great investment. I’m even considering purchasing a second for the kids so the fighting will stop!
Here’s a short video of Emma riding the Plasma Car for the first time. She immediately took to turning circles.
