Little Tikes Gourmet Prep ‘n Serve Kitchen
My kids (all four of them) have loved playing kitchen at some point in their lives. Emma and Ethan fight over who gets to help me in the kitchen, so it’s no surprise that they adore pretend kitchen time as well.
Little Tikes toys have been a staple in our household for over 19 years now. Their quality has never let me down and upon opening the box, they scored big again.
First of all, I love how easy Little Tikes makes putting their toys together. The last “off brand” kitchen I put together came in so many pieces it took me forever to put it together. This kitchen was in 2 large pieces (base and back), one medium piece (longer countertop), a smaller piece (raised countertop) and a few doors, handles, food, etc.
Assembly is a breeze, but be sure to grab a power screwdriver or drill with screwdriver bit to help you. The pieces slide in together but are anchored with screws. If you don’t use a power tool your hands are going to take a beating. When you are finished it’s arts and crafts time… apply the stickers… then voila! you are done!
I love the design of this kitchen. It is ultra modern with a touch of homey. The food prep area is new to me, my kids have always had to use the kitchen table or the floor to assemble their “food” and I am loving the serving area on the end with the stool. With two children playing simultaneously it’s nice that they can cooperate… Emma serves Ethan.

Little Tikes didn’t leave any detail out. The appliances are “stainless steel”, the countertops are “granite” and the cabinets are modern and sleek. There is plenty of storage space if you decide to purchase more food, plates and cookware. The sink even has a modern style “upgrade” faucet and the electric burner makes a real cooking noise.
I only have a couple of wishes for this set. The whole setup is great for two children to play (as pictured), but it only includes 1 of each utensil and 1 plate and cup. I guess they assumed one child would be cooking for the other, but my two like to sit down together and pretend to have family dinner. I would also have liked a larger stovetop area for cooking.
That being said, this set is beyond adorable and would make any child happy. The footprint is probably mid range for a toy kitchen at 41″H x 10″W x 45″D. This kitchen is sturdy and will last through several children, the “realness” is there to encourage more imaginative play, it’s created for reciprocal play and it’s just adorable! Have your little one add it to her Christmas list to ask Santa about… my kids have!
