I am new to the bamboo world. I have heard of items being made from bamboo, but have never seen one in person. When Green Earth Bamboo contacted me and asked if I’d like to try a couple of items, I was game.
After a little research, I found the bamboo is one of the more eco-friendly materials you will find. Bamboo grows at a rapid rate of 4 feet a day! Because of this rapid growth there is an abundance of it, especially in Asia. It is one of the most sustainable resources. I also learned that bamboo is naturally antimicrobial. That means they didn’t need to spray pesticides or herbicides during the growth process.
After some searching through the site I found a couple of items (more like several) that caught my eye.
This dress was right up Emma’s alley. The deep purple is perfect for Emma’s skin tone. It’s not a plum, it’s a deep purple. I love that. The material blend is 95% Viscose from Bamboo / 5% Spandex. Because of the viscose from bamboo, the dress was incredibly soft. The 5% spandex allows it to give a little (which all little girls need to play properly :). The dress swings, sways and spins with ease. The style of the dress is a bit hard to see because of the dark color, but it has a cross-over top, empire waist with the ease of a pull on. Emma had no problems at all putting this on by herself, which left her grinning ear to ear. Another little known fact about viscose from bamboo, it is super absorbent. That makes the wear ability of the dress longer… lightweight enough to wear in the spring and fall, but yet warm enough to keep her cozy in the winter.
The green tea hand towel set is perfect for either of our bathrooms. The color isn’t too mintyThe first thing I noticed was how incredibly soft these towels are! I’m sure my family probably thought I had snapped because I was asking all of them to rub the towel on their face to feel how luxurious they were! Oh my heavens… to have an entire bath set… to dry my body off with something that was softer than velvet. For now our hands will be the lucky recipients. After using these towels I came to understand their absorbent properties. The site states that viscose from bamboo was very absorbent and wicks moisture away like an industrial fan. They aren’t exaggerating.
