Just last week I was a smart phone virgin. I had always had fairly basic phones and didn’t quite get what all the hype was about. Then I was handed a Windows 8x HTC Phone.

This week I spent a lot of time getting familiar with my phone and personalizing it.  I’ve figured out most features and feel comfortable with the things I do all the time.  However, this is a huge learning experience for me, and I still feel a little lost when it comes to things like playing and finding music, adding ringtones, etc.  I’m getting there…

We had a fairly typical weekend that consisted of a skating party/fundraiser at school, working on building bookshelves, and a birthday party.  I took pictures at those events and I really love that I have such easy access to a camera on my phone!  No more missing out on pictures because I forgot my camera – again!

Here’s a few pics I got:

skating

The skating party pics didn’t turn out so fabulous, but I’ve never gotten good pictures in dark places like a skating rink.  It was also the first time I tried taking pictures with the phone and I’m not sure I was doing it right.  Ha!

However, I’m super impressed with the birthday party & the guys working outside.  I think they turned out great!

Each week I’ll be posting more great features about the 8X phone.  I can’t wait to show you all the awesome-ness of this phone!

Disclosure of Material Connection: The above mentioned product was received for free. All pictures included in this post were taken with the HTC Windows Phone 8X. No other compensation was received.

We have reached the point in our phone contract when it is time for new hones. I am a complete noob when it comes to “smart Phones.” The phone I have now makes and receives phone calls. Period. I am getting flak from the family because I can’t just take and send pics spontaneously, so it’s time to make the leap. This one looks really nice and fairly easy.

I love smart phones, and the picture quality on this phone looks great, I’ll have to check it out for my next phone!

  3. I got this phone too! I’m excited to use it, love the pictures of the guys working too. Will be looking for your updates on how you end up liking it.

We have found as we use the camera on our phone (same) we’re getting better pics. Skating rinks are almost impossible to photograph anyway!!

  5. Wow that phone takes GREAT photos! Even the action one’s turned out great! The camera on phones is probably my #1 most important thing these days.

  6. Looks fun! I am an iPhone person. But this looks like a cool phone too! And you got some good photos!! 🙂
