End Child Hunger | Twitter Party May 7| $50 Visa GC Prizes | #ChildHunger

This post brought to you by The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

DCF 1.0

As a mother, it pains my heart to hear of children that are food insecure… meaning they don’t know where there next meal is coming from. When I heard that more than one in five children in the U.S were food insecure I wanted to cry.

That’s nearly 16 million children, a number that could fill 8,000 playgrounds.

Children who experience even intermittent struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences to their health, well-being and educational achievement. What’s more, being hungry robs kids of the promise of childhood – the ability to play, grow and learn.

That’s why I was happy to agree to post about the Child Hunger program. ConAgra Foods is partnering with P&G to build a community of people to make a difference and help donate up to 7 million meals through the Child Hunger Ends Here campaign.

It’s easy to make a difference! Look for the red pushpin and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods and P&G products. For each 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com from March-August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G, respectively, will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.

Child Hunger Ends Here is also proud to work with Grammy-nominated country music artist Hunter Hayes and be the presenting sponsor of his “We’re Not Invisible” tour. For every download of Hunter’s new single, “Invisible,” on iTunes, Child Hunger Ends Here will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to the nation’s leading hunger-relief charity, Feeding America, up to 1 million meals.

DETAILS FOR HUNTER HAYES ROAD RACE

WHAT: Multiple GRAMMY-nominee Hunter Hayes and ConAgra Foods have teamed up to end child hunger while attempting to break the Guinness World Record for Most Concerts Played in multiple cities in a 24-hour period. Hunter will kick off the 24 Hour Road Race to End Child Hunger on Friday, May 9 and is attempting to break the record (currently eight shows in 24 hours set by the Flaming Lips, who broke the previous record made by Jay-Z) by playing 10 shows in 10 cities in 24 hours across the East Coast.

While Hayes sets his sights on setting the Guinness World Record for the most concerts in one day, Child Hunger Ends Here is issuing a challenge to break their own record for the most meals donated in 24 hours. To help us break this record and end child hunger, look for the red pushpin and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods products. For each 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com, ConAgra Foods will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.

WHEN: Friday, May 9 to Saturday, May 10

WHO: Child Hunger Ends Here is proud to work with Hunter Hayes, who will lend his voice to spread awareness for child hunger. ConAgra Foods and P&G are building a community of people to make a difference and help donate up to 7 million meals in 2014 through the Child Hunger Ends Here program. Look for the red pushpin and locate the code found on specially marked ConAgra Foods and P&G products. For each 8-digit code entered at www.ChildHungerEndsHere.com or Facebook.com/ChildHungerEndsHere from March-August 2014, ConAgra Foods or P&G, respectively, will donate the monetary equivalent of one meal to Feeding America.

WHY: More than one in five of all children and more than one in four Latino children in this country may not know where their next meal is coming from. Children who experience even intermittent struggles with hunger may suffer serious, long-term consequences to their health, well-being and educational achievement.

  1. Those numbers are both heartbreaking and astounding! It is great to know that we’re helping as a family just based on some of the foods we buy and today’s twitter party sounds enlightening.
