With winter (officially) just around the corner, my kiddos needed jackets and coats to keep them warm. Thankfully Eddie Bauer has an adorable (and cozy soft) line called Cloud Layer Fleece. The boys’s Cloud Layer Fleece line came in Ethan’s favorite color… light (ascent) blue, so we had to get it!

I was impressed with how pillowy soft these jackets were and I knew my kids would love them. Ethan thought the front chest zipper compartment was pretty cool and he loves how big the hood is (he likes it to drape over his forehead a bit).

Emma also chose a light (capri) blue. The girls’ Cloud Layer Fleece is designed almost identical to the boys with the exception of the zippered pocket. Emma’s pocket is on her sleeve.

The composition of these jackets is: Shell: 100% polyester; Pocket: 88% nylon/12% spandex. There is really plenty of warmth combined with a little stretch to make playing in them ultra comfortable.

These also have an anti-pilling surface for added durability and longer wear. My children complain and begin to refuse to wear pilled jackets and pullovers.

Now that we have dipped under the freezing mark, both kiddos have changed to the heavier coats. Ethan chose the Downlight Hoodie in sapphire blue.

The Downlight Hoodies are 100% nylon, feature StormRepel® DWR finish to shed moisture, have 650 fill Premium Down and have secure zip handwarmer pockets (great for little guys that are always losing their gloves).

This coat is very warm, but I love that if he needed just at touch more protection his fleece hoodie is designed to be worn underneath for an added layer.

Emma chose the girls’ Microtherm Hoodie in Capri blue. This coat is ultra deceiving because of how thin and lightweight it is. At first we couldn’t comprehend that a coat with the feel of a jacket could keep her warm in below freezing weather.

Well… it does!

This coat is 100% nylon, features StormRepel® DWR finish to shed moisture, has zipper close pockets and has 650 fill Premium Down… just like Ethan’s big puffy coat.

Because my little gymnast is so active even in a coat I appreciate the Polyester/Spandex stretch panels at the back shoulder for a full range of motion.

It’s lightweight, adorable and comfortable to move around in. Very innovative for a winter coat.

Emma has also been known to grab her fleece jacket to wear underneath, like Ethan, which is not only nice for added warmth but also for having layers to give her the option of taking one off later to suit the climate she’s in.

My kids have been wearing both the jackets and coats for over a month now and love everything about them.

I am pleased with the quality, style and functionality of all the pieces and commend the designers for thinking of little things like zippers in their pockets.

We will be shopping at Eddie Bauer for all our children’s outerwear needs.
