Cadbury Chocolate Easter Chicks

Cadbury Chocolate Easter Chicks

eggchicks3

The kids and I were playing around with one of my favorite Easter candies today… the Cadbury cream egg. We had just finished melting chocolates for another project and I had a little left in my bowl.

Within a few minutes we were giggling and chopping away at the melting chocolates and these little babies were born.

We used:

* Cadbury Cream Eggs (you can use the carmel eggs… any chocolate egg candy that size really)

* Orange Wilton melting chocolate

* White Wilton melting chocolate

* Brown Wilton melting chocolate

* Black (or any other eye color) frosting

* Wax paper

Melt several pieces of the brown chocolate as your “glue”.

Working on wax paper, plop a glob of brown chocolate across 2 orange circles with enough behind it for the egg to “sit” in. I had to use a small object to keep the egg propped up, but it solidified fairly quickly.

The rest is really your imagination, all while using the brown melted chocolate as your glue. When everything solidifies it will lift off the wax paper with ease.

    These are really cute. I wonder if you put a fan tail on it if it could be used as a turkey for Thanksgiving. So cute! They remind me of the baby turkeys on “Free Birds” movie.
