Bedroom Makeover | Disney Paint and Finishes

Disney Paint & Finishes

Disney and Glidden have teamed up to offer paint and fun specialty finishes only available at Wal-Mart. They coordinate perfectly with Disney bedding and accessories. Paint colors come in 112 unique Disney paint colors. The finishes include:

  • All that Glitters – clear topcoat containing glitter
  • Specktacular – clear topcoat with speckles/confetti
  • Ready, Set, Glow – glow in the dark topcoat
  • Great Slate – tintable chalkboard paint
  • Magnificent Metallic – metallic sheen paint in 24 colors

Our oldest, Micah, recently got a new room – literally. We took a section of our basement and added a wall so that he could have his own space. I was given Disney paint and finishes to review. We were able to get not only paint for his bedroom walls, but we also got some fun finishes for his room and his sister’s room. There are so many options to choose from and we had a blast finding just the right colors and styles.

We ended up choosing the color “Scream Machine” from the Monsters University line. He’s a little old for most Disney bedding and accessories, so we wanted something neutral that would match his room theme of University of Missouri. Go Mizzou! I love that there were so many colors and even shades of colors. We knew we wanted gray, and were able to choose from many shades of gray to get just the one we wanted.

We painted two coats as instructed. They covered very well and I was impressed with how smoothly the paint went on. The best part is that it’s not super stinky like some paints. It’s nearly odor free! Another great feature is that it dries to the touch in about an hour. That was so helpful with kiddos running around.

Once Micah’s room was painted, he wanted to have one “accent” wall but he didn’t want anything too wild. We decided to paint it with the Magnificent Metallic finish in Glimmering Silver.

The first coat didn’t really look much different than his other gray wall, but when we finished with the second coat the next day, I think it turned out pretty cool!

Next, I moved on to 10 year old, Michaela’s room. Her walls were painted about a year ago and she was looking for something fun to add. We decided on the All That Glitters topcoat.

My girls went over to a friend’s house for a couple hours and that was just enough time for me to paint the Shimmering Glitter on her wall and get everything cleaned up. It only requires one coat and it dries really quickly. I love how this turned out & it was so easy!

After playing around with a few Disney paints and finishes, I’m getting the fever to do some more projects. I love that it’ll be easy for me to pick up whatever I’m looking for at my local Walmart. I may have to re-do my baby’s room in her favorite character, Ariel! Walmart has such cute Disney bedding and accessories.

Trace around it lightly with chalk or a pencil.
