Bathroom Makeover | Delta Addison Lavatory Faucets with Touch2O.xt Technology

Delta Faucet provided this product in exchange for my honest opinion.

Our home makeover process has been a slow but steady process. One of the areas that really needed a little updating was our master bathroom. The contractor installed standard bathroom faucets that really did nothing to add to the décor. They were functional, but a little blah.

The reps from Delta and I had a little conversation about our needs and wants. Their suggestion was a faucet with Touch2O.xt Technology. By choosing one of these faucets, not only would we be updating our bathroom but adding an ease of use feature for the children and even ourselves.

What is Touch2O.txt technology?

Tap it on. Tap it off. Tap anywhere on the spout or handle to start the flow of water. If your hands are soapy or messy, simply tap the faucet on with the back of your hand. Touch2O® Technology is ideal for tasks that require a constant flow of water, such as washing your face.

Or use the Hands-Free Technology option. Your entire Touch2O.xt™ Technology faucet acts as a sensor so the water starts flowing instantly and effortlessly. It senses your presence within 4” and automatically shuts off within seconds once you remove your hands. It not only helps conserve water, it’s perfect for repetitive tasks like washing your hands.

We were sent two Delta Addison Single Handle Lavatory Faucets with Touch2O.xt™ Technology to makeover our sinks.

  • Design inspired by the fragile scallops of a sea shell
  • Graceful curves provide a delicate beauty that adds a romantic touch to the bath
  • Featuring both Touch2O® Technology AND Touch2O.xt™ Technology
  • Activate the flow of water by just moving close to the faucet – it senses your presence anywhere 4″ around it.
  • Or activate the flow of water by touching anywhere on the spout or handle.

The installation process went smoothly and before I knew it my husband had both units installed. No need for a plumber… it’s a fairly simple install he said. We had been curious up to this point how these faucets were powered. Were were going to need an electrician? Nope! They run on AA batteries that are included in the box for both faucets. This is a huge plus! I also loved how the finish complimented the new light fixture we had installed earlier.

To be honest, it took me a few days to get used to the look of faucets that tall in the bathroom. The more I looked at them, the more I fell in love.

I’m sure you’re wondering to yourself…. “Doesn’t the auto on feature bug you sometimes?”. That’s the beauty of these faucets. For the Touch2O and Touch 2O.txt technology to work the faucet handle has to be up, in the open position. You choose your water temperature and then leave the handle up. When activated the water will only flow for one minute if left flowing and then will auto shut off. If you are working around the faucet with, say, a curling iron and you don’t want to risk the water flowing while using electricity you push the handle in the down/off position and it will not activate.

We have been using these faucets for several months now and it’s amazing how accustomed you get to the touch feature. The kids easily use this to turn the water off and on with a tap while brushing their teeth. No more wasting water while they are brushing… it is fun for them to turn it on and off so they remember to do it. The hands free activation is handy when they come inside from playing with filthy hands.

From function, style and ease of use the Delta Addison Lavatory Faucet with Touch2O.xt Technology has enhanced the beauty of our bathroom and made our lives a little easier.

These are the most awesome faucets I have ever seen in a bathroom. The color is so nice, and they look great! I want to put this faucet in my bathroom when I need to replace the old ones. They do not look that hard to install, and that is great that you saved on a plumber by doing installing on your own. Delta makes the best faucets!

  6. Lyn says

Love the design of these faucets. I think they really added to the bathroom. Thinking how handy these faucets would be when brushing your teeth. I still have to consciously think about turning the water off when I’m brushing.

Hi Heather! I absolutely love your bathroom re-model, it looks incredible. I have a question though…with the Delta faucets sitting so tall and the sink basins being relatively shallow- have you had a problem with excessive splashing? Any advice is appreciated! I am currently researching a remodel for my bathrooms as well. Thank you in advance!

    • Hi Chloe,

I haven’t had any issues with excessive splashing (other than normal kids playing around in the water 🙂 with these faucets. If you love the look, I would say go for it!

These are so cool! I love the touch technology – I didn’t realize that it was available for residential use. We redid two of our bathrooms last year and now have the girls bathroom to redo (have to save up first). I will look at this line, because touch would make a lot of sense in a kids bathroom, I think.

  11. Thanks a lot for sharing this information. It is really cool. And I guess this would surely give any bathroom an elegant look. Oh! How I wish I could have it too.

  12. Lovely design! I want to change my bathroom faucets, and I like the electronic ones. I’ve been looking the Roca’s catalogue, and there are some aerated faucets with electronic control of consumption, very interesting.

your faucets are beautiful! i like that the water will flow if you get within 4 inches of it – big help when you have messy hands.

  14. Wendi S says

I love the idea of these faucets and really want to get one. I think your bathroom looks amazing! Good for you.

  15. MIGHTY FINE REVIEW –I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE ONE THESE IN MY BATHROOM…

  16. I would love to have faucets like these in our bathrooms and if they make them, also in our kitchen too. The place I used to work at had hands-free faucets in the bathroom and several of the stores in town do too. I really like the idea of not having to touch anything in a public restroom and at home it would be great especially after working on something that makes your hands dirty, greasy or just plain messy. I like that they have a touch on and stay on feature along with a near-field momentary on feature too. That would be really good to have.

  17. Wendi Shifflette says

I love them that is exactly what is going in our new home.

  18. Karen Propes says

I love this, we have a new faucet for our bathroom. I’m taking it and putting in the master and get one of these for the main bathroom. This is great, sometimes my hands don’t work good and this is the answer. We are changing the cabinet and putting in a deeper bowl. This will fit in there perfectly. Thanks for sharing. You guys have such great home touches and I’m so glad you are sharing with us.
