Zoodles Child Safe Internet Browser

Have your pre-schoolers and younger crowd been bugging you to use the computer? Mine have! My instinctual reaction was to say NO! Now we can say YES! Zoodles has games for ages 2 through 3rd grade!
From the website:

Zoodles Kid’s Browser

Our goal is to give kids a safe place to play and learn online. We knew that we couldn’t just give kids a typical browser and send them off to explore. Most sites today are way too complicated for young kids to navigate on their own, and they don’t provide enough safety from all the bad stuff lurking on the web.
So, we started from scratch. We built a FREE browser, especially for kids, that makes it simple for them to find lots of fun activities – all by themselves. By launching the icon on your desktop, your child will enter a full-screen mode of Zoodles that will keep them from exiting out and finding inappropriate content or accidentally deleting your important files.

Thoughts from ME:
Emma is 3 1/2 and has been asking to use the computer for about 6 months now. Up until now we haven’t let her mainly because the few times we did, she would click on something  she shouldn’t have that would take her away from the task at hand and then she’d get frustrated. Then I found Zoodles!

Setting up the account was quick and easy. I was allowed to make one for Emma (3 1/2) and Ethan (2). Each dashboard has games geared toward that particular age group, making play less frustrating and more fun and educational. As you can see below, the “toy box” is pretty easy to navigate and Emma got the hang of it quickly.

Check out the quick video and see how easy it is!

With a few initial instructions and a couple of “mommy come help me”s Emma was able to play independently for the entire two hours I had allowed. I gave Emma a few warnings that her time was coming to an end and Zoodles “shut down” giving her a timer screen. The next morning I received this in my email:

How exciting to see what they played and what they learned! For an even more detailed report, I clicked on the Parent Dashboard link provided in the email and saw this:
Here’s a quick video about the parent dashboard.

Parents
can browse games by age or grade, subject, or branded character, and then learn
what the game is about and what it teaches their children.
Zoodles has tons of games Emma is interested in! They have Dora Games, Curious George GamesDisney Games and so much more! Take a peek to see what games they have to offer your child.

My final thoughts on Zoodles? It’s a MUST HAVE! I now feel safe letting Emma use the computer without direct supervision and she is getting the computer skills she will need for school  as well as having fun and learning!

Here’s the BEST part!!
