Being a parent is hard. There are plenty of scenarios portrayed through media channels that create the sometimes daily bout of “mom guilt”. Having a next door neighbor “in real life” trigger of your mom guilt is even worse.

I actually am struggling right now with the thought that I need to create the “perfect” graduation party for my oldest son this weekend.

I can and do on rare occasion still create works of art for my children, but in my 23 years of parenting I have come to realize that my children are happy with anything. From simple cupcakes with a topper plopped on to a sheet cake with Happy Birthday written on it. They just want me to be there and enjoy the day with them.
