I have had my eyes on American Girl dolls for some time now. I subscribed to the magazine and watched as McKenna spent so much time laying on the floor awing over each item in the magazine dreaming of playing with her very own American Girl. As I have watched her grow into a little mommy herself when she plays with her babies and dolls we decided that it is time that we enter the world of American Girl. I was absolutely beyond ecstatic when I was given the chance to review our very own My American Girl doll. I chose to get one that has some of the same futures as McKenna… blonde hair, blue eyes, and fair skin.

It was a exciting day when the American Girl arrived. When I opened the mail and saw the box she comes in… it confirms that you have a special doll. I noticed the time and extra caution that goes into securing her in the box. Her hair was even in a little hair net to prevent it from getting messed up during transpiration in the mail.

I received a “My American Girl” 18″ tall girl with blue eyes which open and close as you stand her up or laying her down. She has light skin tone and layered blond hair. Her body is a soft cloth and her arm, legs and head are a smooth vinyl for that realistic look.

Her clothes she comes in are so well made, they look like real clothes that any little girl might wear. The boots have detailed stitching… I found myself admiring the work that went into them, they look flawless.

The detail that you can see in her face… from her beautiful eyes, to skin tone, to her hair. You can braid her hair, brush it and style it just like real hair. She is so real like I found myself wanting to talk to her and expect her to respond, no wonder little girls get so into playing with their American Girls. These dolls are absolutely beautiful!

The accessories that you can purchase for these girls are endless… from all the outfits and holiday dresses, furniture, to accessories. You can even send you doll to American Girl hospital to have her ears pierced, add a hearing aid, or have any limb or head reattached. No matter what may happen to your doll she can be fixed thanks to the American Girl hospital.
