Age, childbirth, illness and various surgeries can all lead to the need for a “different kind of underwear”.

After the birth of my last baby my OBGYN was very concerned that I might have serious issues as well. Apparently during my c-section she found that my bladder had adhered to my uterus. She was able to separate them, but it could have meant a life changing event.

Fortunately my only side effect from that delivery was the typical light bladder leakage when sneezing, coughing and laughing that most women experience after childbirth.

A lot of people, myself included, have joked about Depend undergarments. Words like adult diapers have crossed my lips.

In reality Depend provides a variety of discreet products that help people regain their freedom and get their lives back. They are not “diapers”. They are briefs that look, fit and feel like real underwear and feature a cloth-like fabric for a sleek, ultra-smooth fit.

Depend Underwear with Fit-Flex protection: Features more Lycra stands for a smooth and comfortable close-to-the-body fit.

To support Underwareness*, Depend® has pledged to donate up to $3 million to The Simon Foundation for Continence and The United Way over the next three years to advance the support and education of bladder leakage issues.

this is a great campaign! my mom has recently needed to *depend* on these briefs, but had a hard time admitting it due to embarrassment – there really is nothing to be embarrassed about – and people should know that.

I love when companies take a huge step to donate to a great cause. Depend is a great brand and the name says it all.

this is a weird cause. i guess it is good for the elderly and a great cause for them. not sure i would do this in a commercial.

Ah, education is needed here. It is NOT just the elderly who need these pants. Any number of medical conditions will make someone need them.

  5. what a great idea and so easy!

This makes me think of the no pants day flash mob thing, but this is for a good cause! For some reason I thought that because I ended up having a c-section that the leaking issue wouldn’t happen to me. Wrong about that!

I think that it is such a good thing that Depends is doing by donating 3 million to help support the cause and treatment of bladder leakage. They sure make a great product to help with this embarrassing situation.

Wow that was a great read. Luckily nothing serious came out of the separation. I know a lot of women who have had vaginal birth instead of c-section have that issue. All of mine were C-section babies, and haven’t had any issues yet. I love that they are raising money for awareness.

This a great cause! I think too many people feel embarrassed but this is a great sponsor for a great cause!

  10. I think views on light bladder leakage and products like Depends have really changed over the last few years. We as women are more open and honest now and are finding many of us suffer from an occasional light leak. I could definitely use a solution for workouts that involve excessive jumping.

  11. It is horrible but it is true bladder leakage happens. Women having babies, lifting, and so much more add to bladder issues. This is a great way for awareness. I have been sharing through twitter, facebook etc. Nice to know there is some great products to use for this.
