Baby Bash: Little Looster Potty Stool Review & GIVEAWAY [CLOSED]

If you’ve potty trained, then you know… big people toilets and little bodies just weren’t made for each other. Then along came the Little Looster!

Who is Little Looster? (from the website):

Little Looster LLC is a Portland, OR based business. The Looster itself was conceived and designed by Monica Mylet, a mother of 3. She came up with the design and need after parenting 3 kids through the potty training process.Just about every aspect of the Looster’s life cycle from birth-of-concept to design and manufacturing was completed by Oregon based companies.

My Take:

I have potty trained three kidlets now. Each one, a different experience. One thing they all had in common though? “Regular” adult toilets are just a bad fit for them! First of all, they fall in (easy to remedy). Secondly, the toilet is just so far off the ground for them! Ethan (just turned 2) has been toying with the idea of potty training lately. He is a big guy, off the charts for height (38″) and still he has had a hard time getting on the potty. The little stools we purchased at Wal-Mart were wobbly, he would climb on it (forward facing) and then place both knees on either side of the toilet lid and try to turn his little body around while ON his knees ON the toilet! It was funny to see, but heartbreaking because I know he wants to sit on it like a big boy. We’ve had one accident where he has actually fallen into the water (stop it! stop laughing you big meanie LOL).

I introduced the Little Looster to both Ethan and Emma. Emma has been potty trained a year and a half now and has mastered the art of backing up to the toilet, but still was a little wobbly and has knocked the stool over a time or two. Now, with the Looster… there is no wobble and she can get a good stance before sitting down (no more plopping on :O). While on the potty her feet don’t dangle and she can sit comfortably. Now that we are training her to (ahem.. tmi coming up) wipe her own bottom, she has a little leverage to lift her bottom up to wipe from the correct angle.

Now, for Ethan… remember his routine of climbing forward onto the toilet and then rotating to the right place? GONE! He almost immediately sat down on the potty correctly. I honestly think that the instability of the small stool kept him from sitting down properly. He likes his new stool and is encouraged by his success of getting up and down on his own. I know this will help him advance his potty training efforts and we have already had one successful mission ;O).

I would say this is a definite must have for parents of potty training youngsters even through pre-school… at least until their feet can reach the floor. The build of this stool will last them that long, too!
